[@MeowGoesKat] - Well, currently there is a blood test that can detect only the [i]possibility[/i] of a person being a Variant. It's fairly new technology and it's unbelievably expensive. It's really not something widely used at the moment, so it's not like NOVA already knows all Variants from birth or anything. So you pretty much have to witness a Variant using their power in order to tell.
