Name: James Harrison Nickname: Jay Age: 36 Race: Medium Height: 5’11 (1.8 meters) Weight: 165 lbs (75 kg) Hair Color: Auburn Eye Color: Green Description: The most notable thing about Jay is the large cluster of scars encircling his eyes. The dark red and black streaks contrast drastically with his pale skin. He has a few freckles along the bridge of his nose, but most of the time they are practically non existent. Aside from that, there isn’t a whole lot more to describe. Personality: Normally, Jay’s rather subdued. He isn’t depressed. He’s just lost in his own thoughts, constantly contemplating his state of being and the world around him. He finds happiness in the simpler things of life, and while he doesn’t want to spend his life alone, he appreciates the serenity that he finds in the quiet and calm moments of the morning. Jay is one of the brighter souls in the city of darkness and monsters. That being said, he isn’t a pushover, and he can hold his own. Being a medium, his mood can also be more easily influenced by the moods and feels of the people, creatures, and even places around him. Background: Jay was born an only child on the outskirts of town. His parents were kind people, and never seemed angry towards him or anyone at all. His parents didn’t ever reveal to him that they had powers, but when his manifested at the age to 12, they didn’t seem surprised. However, they did become far more worried, and when he told them of a dream he had on night, a dream of a pale man with flaming eyes and fangs, they began make arrangements to move to another city. They soon settled into their new surroundings, but the dreams still haunted him, and one night he awoke in pain, screaming at the top of his lungs. His parents told him how they had found him rolling around on the floor, chanting in some foreign language and trying to claw his own eyes out. The scars never healed, and there was something strange, almost supernatural about the wounds. This was the tipping point. They sent him to live with his aunt Mary, assuring him that everything would be alright. He knew they were just trying to calm him down, but he listened anyway. Soon he was in living in Baylor city, and one night several months later, he awoke, knowing that every ounce of blood had been drained from his parents’ veins. It took time for him to adapt to all the pained emotions and feelings around him, not only coming from himself, but all those individuals and places that surrounded him. Eventually his psychic intuition led him to find the Syndicate, and he joined their ranks as a agent, his powers making him an invaluable addition to their ranks. Much more happened to him throughout the years, though he never found the man that once plagued his dreams. None of that was important though. It was in the past, and what truly mattered what lay before him now. Weapon(s): Jay hates killing, not only because it goes against his moral code, but because every pain he causes others he himself feels, albeit to a lesser degree. Still, he carries a revolver in case of extreme emergencies. Other than that, he carries a can of pepper spray, an extendable baton, and a flask or two of holy water. Skills: Martial arts. Jay is great at hand to hand combat, and has taken many classes on how to take somebody out while causing minimal pain or damage as he too can feel their pain. Multilingual. Jay can speak many of the languages within the city of Baylor. This has been reinforced by his psychic abilities. Blade use. Jay has taken classes in the use of a blade. While this was mostly as a way to improve his agility and footwork, it has also assured him that he will have the upper hand if he gets into a knife fight. First aid. Jay has always been a sensitive individual, and because of this, he has taken many classes in first aid. This has been very handy in his line of work, and he has saved quite a few lives with his quick thinking and skill. Power(s): Aura reading. Jay is able to feel and see the energy fields surrounding people, places, and things. This helps him not only to perceive what others are feeling, but helps him to be a good judge of character. A downside is that this makes him more likely to feel what others are feeling. Photographic memory. Able to recall memories vividly, as well as remember details about objects, people, and places that he has only seen once. Precognition. The ability to see a possible future, especially involving himself and those ha deeply cares for. Often they are hazy and unclear, which sometimes leads him to make incorrect assumptions and sometimes second guess the course of action he is taking. Intuition: The ability to know things without specific evidence or proof. For example he can tell if someone has been murdered, or if a suspect is guilty. Basically a psychic hunch. Granted, he can sometimes let his feelings (or the feelings of people and things around him) affect his judgement, so his hunches aren’t accurate 100% of the time.
