Name: Kitsune Huohu

He was in my way....so I shot him Alias: The Fire Fox Nickname: (To be Determined) Age: 19 Region of Origin: South Hometown: Nichibotsu Deity: He did not train under any deity, but associates himself with the Phoenix of the south Master: Gunslinger Gender: Male Race: Lyn Height: 3’9” (He claims to be 4’) Weight: 25kg/ 55 pound Hair: Fiery red Eyes: Cobalt blue Skin: He has very pale, smooth skin. His body is more akin to a ten year old than an adult. Handedness: Left handed Scars: One, deep scar across his stomach, that he lets no-one see. Tattoos: None Basic Description: He’s short, pale skinned with an unruly mop of fiery hair on his head, oh, and a pair of fox ears….and a tail. Most people confuse him with being much, much younger, an ordinary man could pick him up with one hand. He likes to wear long (for him) flowing clothes, always red (like, really red. Proper, bright red), under which he can easily hide his explosive gadgets and guns. Likes: Explosions, stories, action, adventure, jokes Dislikes: Sore losers, cheaters, arrogance Goals: To wipe out the criminal empire of Muro Masau Fears: That he is not, and will never be, good enough to accomplish his aims. Mannerisms: His supreme skill with gunpowder has caused him to become supremely confident that he can cut any man down before he comes within 10ft. For this reason, he is also supremely cocky, but never tries to offend anyone. He is usually fun and easy going, and there are very few things that he will take seriously, finding it very easy to make light of almost any situation. As a result of using guns and bomb, as opposed to swords and magic, he rarely has to kill up close, even see the face of the person he’s killing, and this has made him slightly psychopathic. He feels nothing when killing.   Superstitions: Before he fires any of his guns, he recites a short rhyme: Fly straight, fly free, but don’t go flying into me. He claims that misfires have been cut in half since he started saying it. (Nothing to do with that being the date he installed a new mechanism into his gun.) Social Pressures/Problems: As previously mentioned, Kitsune is slightly psychopathic, and sees nothing wrong with killing other people to achieve his aims, no matter how minor. Problem is, no-one else seems to see it that way. He also feels that he constantly has to prove himself to everyone he meets. Parents: Mother (Mayuko): His mother is very frightened for him, and is desperate for him to come back home. She does however, accept that she’s never going to stop him, and does what she can to make sure he doesn’t get himself killed.              Father: (Futoshi): His father agrees with his wife, but only for the sake of his wife. He’s worried what his constant absence will do to her. Siblings: Hiro - Kitsune's 4 year old brother, he idolises Kitsune. He is incredibly naïve and innocent, and Kitsune labours very hard to keep it that way. His parents are very keen to keep him at home, but Hiro is determined to one day follow his brother into the big wide world. Rivals: He has a friendly rivalry with his childhood friend Masuo, the only marksman who can even come close to him. Enemies: Bandit Lord Muro Masau WEAPONS Spectre Rifle - The pinnacle of Kitsunes weapon engineering, it is a breech loading, rifled, armour piercing rifle, with super long range and the array of scopes to match. (Seriously, it looks like he’s just attached a load of different sized magnifying glasses). Boom pellets - His own design, can range from pellet to grenade size, the small ones, as well as gun powder, contain things like ash and blinding powder (a surprisingly large amount) while the larger ones carry shrapnel, but he has less of those. Designed to explode upon impact with something, he keeps them in an easily accessible harness beneath his kimono. Kyōda & Furasshu - Two pistols, with a design similar to that of a revolver, each can contain 10 bullets. However, he’s rigged it so that he can easily slip out the revolving drum when empty, and slide in a new one, dramatically cutting reload times. Ai's Sword - A black scabbard with rose stripes, and a similar pattern on the hilt, this sword is all Kitsune has left to remember her by. Doesn't means he's any good with it. SKILLS Engineering - Not just guns, machines, vehicles, all can be fixed or designed completely within Kitsune’s mind, probably with one or two improvements. Acrobat - Kitsune is a natural gymnast, easily able to bend and contort himself into a variety of shapes, and possessing a surprising amount of upper body strength. He can also jump ridiculously high, almost 6 feet in the air! Quick Draw - No, he wasn't holding that gun 0.2 seconds ago! Kitsune can flip a coin in the air, draw his gun, shoot a hole through it, and re-holster it before the coin hits the ground. POWERS Focus Fire - Taking a moment to ready himself, and say a quick prayer, Mistune unloads both of his pistols into the exact same spot, 20 rounds through one hole. Powder jump - By timing it just right, Kitsune sets off a charge with just enough force to blast him high into the air and, if needs be, just enough to slow his fall to a manageable level. Spectre blast  - Taking a deep breath, Kitsune puts himself into a higher state of mind he has achieved through constant practice. When he fires his rifle, he will not miss. Period. Ever. He can hit people seemingly hundreds of yards outside of his range Smoke Shot - Memorising the location of his enemies, Kitsune throws a line of boom pellets, creating a wall of smoke between himself and his targets, before launching a volley of shots with pinpoint accuracy from within the cloud. Wall of Steel - Through practice and calculation, Kitsune is able to fire is pistols in such a way, that not even a master of the four schools could find a way through. He can keep it up for as long as he has ammunition, and his reload time is so fast it’s negligible. Trick shot - Making some very quick calculations, and then relying wholly on instinct, Kitsune can bonce a shot from his rifle up to three times before it starts getting edgy. Three or less... he will always hit.
Current Story: Kitsune was born into the relatively quiet town of Nichibotsu, on the intersection between a few minor roads, that local traders used to travel throughout the region. There was always some kind of hustle and bustle at the marketplace, and Kitsune enjoyed running through the forest of legs as a child, drinking in all the sights and smells and sounds. What particularly interested him, though, was the fireworks. Every month, the firework man would come through town, and set off a little display of light and sound. He and his friend, Masuo, always got a little extra display, all to themselves. Gradually, over the years, they began to learn all about gunpowder, how it could be used, it's potential for good, and for evil. It was like a force of nature unto itself, and Kitsune was constantly craving to learn more. Despite being small, Kitsune was bright and optimistic, and soon made friends with the other children throughout Nichibotsu. Han Lin, the son of the local sword smith, was the only Gon child in the town, and Kitsune was quick to ask him to come join their games, having once been rejected himself for being a Lyn. The thin, scholarly Genji was also coaxed out of his shell by Kitsune, who had previously only known the books of his father, a retired force master, for company. The penultimate addition to their group was Kai. Kai was the oldest of them by a good three years, and he had previously shunned the group, instead preferring to practice his martial arts. He was always the serious one, quickest to judge, and slowest to forgive, but he was a firm friend once they convinced him that fighting wasn't everything (with the help of some very expensive chocolate they...umm...acquired). It was when their guard patrol was finally withdrawn, due to intense pressure on the guard in other cities, that Kitsune's life truly began. Most known it was going to happen for a while, but no-one had done anything about it. Except Kitsune and his friends. They trained themselves to protect the town from the bandits who would surely descend upon such a prosperous, unprotected town. The townsfolk didn't like it, young children shouldn't fight, they said. Particularly the men who would have been shown up by children of a mere 14. Their pride almost cost the town many lives. As soon as the guard left, the Bandit Lord Muro Masau, moved in. He had been eying Nichibotsu for a long time, seeking to make it his base of operations, and he wasn't about to let this chance slip away. For Kitsune and his friends, it was almost a disaster. Deprived of much training, they were lucky that Muro had expected an easy victory. After a few shots, Kitsune and Masuo's weapons misfired, Han was disarmed after only one kill, Kai could not hurt the bandits beneath their armour, and Genji could only cast a single spell before he was drained. Yes, it was almost a disaster. But then there was Ai. One of the bandits stood over Kitsune, his blade poised to strike. His arrogant smile turned to a look of confusion, however, when the tip of a sword appeared through his chest. He collapsed to the ground, and standing behind him, was Ai. It wasn't long before they were all put to flight. Kitsune was only silent because he was thinking up a really good opening line, and he was only staring at her to make sure she didn't trip or anything, but Han had to ruin it. "I think he likes you." He said. It didn't take long for Kitsune to recover from is minor set back, but Ai seemed reluctant to succumb to his charms. As the mayors daughter, she convinced the town to allow them to train in the forest, even trained and fought with them, but she just wasn't interested. It took long hours of deep conversation, nights looking at the moon, and even a sunset for Kitsune to realise that he was, in fact, in love. Ai just never seemed to notice. And Kitsune never got the chance to tell her. It was during Muro's final attempt to take the town, after five years of fighting, that it finally ended. They were training deep in the woods, a secret clearing that Ai had discovered as a girl, and had told no-one of. She thought it best that they weren't caught unawares. But Muro's bandits lived all their lives in the forests of Tu. If there was anything hidden, they knew how to find it. So they did. Just as the sun was setting, and Kitsune and his group were sweating and tired from the day's practice, they attacked. They swarmed into the clearing, Kitsune and Masuo buying just enough time for the rest to prepare. Pulling into a tight formation, they readied themselves to cut their way back to Nichibotsu. Kitsune pulled up the rear guard, easily establishing a kill zone in the clearing behind them. In desperation, one bandit charged across the open clearing, trying to cut down Kitsune. He smiled, easy shot. He lined up the mans head between the crosshairs, and pulled the trigger. BANG! Kitsune's ears rang and his gun exploded and flew from his grasp. Misfire. His own gun, which he'd built himself from scratch, had misfired. The man laughed manically as he sliced open Kitsune's stomach, and he just had time to call out a warning to Ai, and she even managed to turn before the killer, thrust his sword straight through her chest, into her heart. She locked onto his gaze, and in those last moments, he saw what he dreaded. Fear. Then he fell into blackness. Masuo woke him up, still in the clearing, beaten and bloodied. All the bandits were dead. But only him and Kitsune were alive. Standing, Kitsune regarded the clearing with horror. Genji was the most obvious, the grass both frozen and scorched from where he'd made his last stand, a single, perfect hole was visible between his eyes. Sniper. Han was next, he was splayed face first on the grass, a small pile of bandits surrounded his body. Whoever had killed him had left the knife in his back. Kai was more difficult. His features were almost unrecognisable, his body bore hundreds of cut but his lack of armour had betrayed him. He was riddled with arrows. Finally, there was Ai. Ai. He had to dig her body out from under all the other corpses, and her eyes were glazed over, staring into the darkening sky. How could this happen? How could he let this happen? He never even...he never even got to say... "I love you." And he cried. He cried so long and so hard that he though he must soon run out of tears. And when he did...there was nothing left. Just pain. Then he left. Having exhausted almost all his resources trying to take Nichibotsu, and with no-one left to carry news of the death of most of it's protectors, Muro gave up. But not Kitsune. He vows to travel to the ends of the earth to find Muro, and when he does, it ain't gonna be pretty. He is presently trying to gather support and allies from the four schools, located all over Tu. Note: Muro is also a dark chi wielder

 Ai

 Hiro
