Ling sighed, having been dreading this conversation. Picking his words carefully he emotionlessly said "As entertaining as that may be, I don't believe that is a viable option. Xi'an is very uneasy about your kind, with many believing you're possessed or worse. Just having your King for a visit caused protests and I had to spend weeks afterwards convincing my own vassals not to get involved with your stay here."

Ling paused too look out the window, and in a rare human moment said "I may be Emperor, but even my powers are limited by what my people will tolerate. Having Orcs in Xi'an is already causing problems for me, and my court still at best tolerates you."

Putting his hands on the skeleton's shoulders he said "I have put myself into a very dangerous position having you here, especially having already allied with the Orcs camped outside the city. But, I gladly paid it. Because, you and that brilliant mind could save me and my people from our fate. The fate of this ancient kingdom, may very well rest on your shoulders."
