I picked Sun, and went with my tiny leaf bird as a starter. Honestly, I'm not quite sure where I fall in terms of love for the game. The sheer variety of pokemon in the early stages of the game are fantastic, which sticks closely to the idea of a diverse island biome. I like the setting, and I really like the alternative forms for pokemon and really hope that continues in later games. I don't know how to feel about the challenges instead of gym battles. I know for the most part they're the same thing, but it's such an integral part of pokemon that taking it away seems like there's something missing. I also don't like the way it feels like you're on a supervised tour. The "adults" are always at your heels and the enclosed nature of the islands just makes it feel like less of an epic journey somehow. Team Skull. I have NEVER despised one of the Teams as much as I do this one. I get the vibe they were going for, but NO ONE takes them seriously as a threat! I get its for a younger audience, but there's no clear threat. They're goofballs trying to act like gangsters. Rant over :p
