But being such an anti-social person, it had been so long since she had actually interacted with people outside her family that she had somewhat forgotten that the rest of the world couldn't tell what she was thinking. She would have to finish her sentence. Except that she really felt like turning around now. She had no idea what he thought of her now, and she didn't want to know. As for his remark, well, she actually really wished she were telepathic. Why couldn't she have been given that as a power instead?

She took a deep breath. 

[color=BD892F][i]It's not like he's going to, well I don't know, do something drastic if I agree to take a walk down the hall with him. He was the one who invited me in the first place anyway.[/i][/color]

This time she raised her head, and looked directly at him for a change. Her face had become strangely impassive and calm, especially in her eyes, though a trace of redness still remained on her cheeks and her eyebrows were drawn together. [color=BD892F]"I'd like to go with you... to the gym. If that's alright? You'll have to lead the way, though, since I don't know my way around. If that's okay with you."[/color] This time round her voice was louder than before, albeit a little forced sounding. It actually passed for a proper whisper this time, perhaps in the volume that someone would speak in if they were in a room with sleeping children.

After finishing her little speech, there was a noticeable change in her demeanor. While she waited for an approval or disapproval she shifted her weight onto her left leg so her hip jutted out slightly, lifting just her right heel so it remained an inch or two off the floor. Though her left arm still remained around her torso, her muscles seemed to relax, her shoulders became a little less stiff, and she tilted her head slightly to one side.
