Even before Shade parked the car, Claudia knew that Alex was out and about. There was also a new smell about. Sickly sweet but strangely similar to Alex's and Shade's smell. She would have jumped out of the car if Shade didn't warn her. 

Warily, she watched the girl, her eyes tracking her every move. All her muscles tensed up as she readied herself for an attack. But no attack came and then there was Alex's voice telling her to come out. Ignoring the girl completely, she stepped out, threw her arms around her mate and rained kisses on him.
