As the current ones refused to change, new ones rose up to challenge the old money’s values. Among them was Bank of Scandinavia. It utilized advanced algorithms to calculate if loan-packages or singular loans that were traded, would get paid. The Bank of Scandinavia started to gather money and create buffer funds in case of another collapse. However, to do the existing algorithm had to be altered. They bought over Dreyed Systems and renamed it. It now had a singular task. Upgrade the algorithm. They succeeded, and in the nick of time as well. In 2025 the geniuses of Dreyed revealed their program: SEER and its frightening prediction. Within 10 years the world would face a devastating cataclysm. Bank of Scandinavia began to hoard money like mad. Seemingly at random it bought loads of small loan packages and shed several of its “core” loan packs. Labeled mad by the liberal economics, Bank of Scandinavia fought a tough fight for 6 years. But when the collapse begun, the Bank stood tall and loomed over the larger banks. Sadly, trouble arose that SEER did not see coming. Countries, themselves too poor, could no longer bail out the banks that got too big. In a grab for power, the Bank of Scandinavia began giving countries extremely large loans. While at the same time, the failing banks were drained and the funds they owned siphoned towards Bank of Scandinavia. However, not everyone could open an account at the Bank. Nor did everyone get a loan. SEER kept running and predicted peoples’ their capability to pay loans. Those who couldn’t, didn’t receive one. A wealth gab formed swiftly and crushingly. At this time too, Bank of Scandinavia began putting billions of euros in the EU. To keep it relatively steady. The social unrest turned into civil strife rather quickly. Seeing that nations struggled calming their citizens, the Bank created a 3th and 4th branch and, at the same time, created Carolus Holdings. Einherjar was based off the bankers their belief that everything required higher education. First two years were used to gather the top of the top instructors from various nations and ordered them to create a ciriculum to fill 3 years. The 3th year the first students were allowed in. 3 years later and the first Einherjar Security Agents graduated. Using LTL weaponry they swiftly cleared the streets of the riots that were once common sight. Housing prices skyrocketed and poor families were driven to live in slums surrounding the city. When Einherjar was being made, Future Investment was created as well. Carolus Holdings realized that students graduating normal universities were not well prepared for a life within the Holdings. Thus they made their own university. Massive grants and wages attracted the very best from across the globe. The Universities sponsored by Future Investment swiftly rose to the top 10 of best Universities on Earth. In 2085, to prove their supremacy, Carolus Holdings began the construction of Asgard. An almost utopical city that became the absolute center of Carolus Holdings. All 4 major branches had their HQ here. In fact, the Asgard University in itself is the size of a village and holds many of the brightest minds. The Bifrost Airport is one of the most advanced airports today. Dreyed too got the area of a small village for advanced predictive computer research. The area is better known as Vanaheim. Finally, more towards the center stands the Andvaranaut Building. Not only the average bank, it is said that beyond the main building, you will find the vaults that stores the wealth of the Bank of Scandinavia.[/indent] [h2][sub][b][u] Leadership [/u][/b][/sub][/h2] [indent]Carolus Holdings is managed by a small force. Which in turn manages the holdings numerous companies. At the top sits Haldjor Bjornson. An enigmatic billionaire. Charming as he is vicious, the young Bjornson keeps a tight hold over the four main branches of his Holding. He and the CEOs of those companies (Charles Olavson of Einherjar, Catharina Alvar of Dreyed, himself also manages the Bank and finally Sigrir Jondottir of Aesir). To maintain his power over the 3 others, the owner of the Bank of Scandinavia holds just about 35% of all stocks of Carolus Holdings. It's a highly oiled machine working at breakneck speed. Only taking in the best and brightest. Burn-outs are no shame. In fact, they are seen as a rite of passage. Money and bonuses flow like its water and employees have everything desire (even that whose legality could be questioned). But in return they must give their body, mind and soul for the company. One could think this is an inhumane way of being treated. Like cogs in a machine. But many within the areas of CH view the Holdings as a savior, guide, and educator. They uplift those capable to wealth. So many fight and work hard to get uplifted. Once within the Holdings, the race only started. The top can be reached. But only through hard work. Everything is permitted. The lower levels of the Holdings work at less breakneck speeds. Though they are still pushed to give their all, these people won't hit a burn-out at their 25th (or suffer cardiac arrest at the young age of 40). However, their wages are very low. Mostly calculated in such a way that it's [i]just[/i] enough to come by every month but unable to buy luxury. They generally live dancing on the edge of poverty. Though they don't really condemn the companies for that. This is because there is one ladder lower. Those who are truly and thoroughly poor. Those who barely have anything and must take semi-legal jobs (often day jobs that are paid in cash. They are legal but nobody's covered). These people often face the brunt of any problem. Financial crisis? Fault of the poor. Terrorism? They're poor. Riots? The poor try to take what little you have. Being poor is utterly and thoroughly stigmatized within Carolus Holding territories.[/indent] [h2][sub][b][u] Security Detail [/u][/b][/sub][/h2] [indent]Einherjar Security Solutions, or ESS, are experts in close-quarters anti-terrorism tactics. Functioning as EU's international police, they are highly qualified in hostage situations, VIP evac and terrorist raids. Swift, professional and unyielding, the ESS has a track-record that would make any army jealous. It recruits from various sources. But each recruit is hand-picked. Often promising athletes with high educational scores are picked. They then proceed through 3 years of rigorous mental and physical training. Graduation from the Einherjar Institute is considered a huge honor. After that, 15 years of service. When the 15 years a fulfilled, the soldiers have an option: either privatize as one of ESS's numerous private corporations and work as a bodyguard.
