When the dark-clad man spoke, it came out not as words, but a raspy series of coughs and wheezes. Unaccustomed to spending so much time in a stasis, it took him longer than expected to clear this throat. After a long moment, his dry voice resounded into the small hallway. "My name is Geno-" he began, but was cut off when he realized he had forgotten his surname. He scavenged his mind for the answer, but came up empty. He continued with a defeated sigh. "Just 'Geno' I suppose. This Caretaker must have malfunctioned; We weren't supposed to lose our memories." His voice trailed off rather than find a resolution in the end of this sentence, as he looked past the group for a door or any sort of way out of this chamber.
