Location: Beryllium City, Pokepark.

Roxy grinned widely as she stood a fair distance away from Aiden, stretching her arms out before calling back out to him. "Good luck! You're gonna need it~" The confidence in her tone was intentionally challenging. "Lucina, you ready?" The Riolu pulled her bandana over her face; she thought it made her look intimidating, but Roxy always figured she looked adorable. "Alright Lucina, use Force Palm!" Lucina's right paw lit up a bright blue, as she charged toward Zorex and attempted to slam her paw into his forehead. Aiden was ready for her and as she gave her challenging words he returned in kind, "I'll make sure to go easy on you!" Then in that rush of action with Lucina charging after Zorex he issued his first move, "Zorex! Use Sand Attack!" Instead of trying to dodge he made sure that he'd have an advantage later. So Zorex took in a deep breath and quickly exhailed it, washing a flurry of sand in a massive cone out at Lucina as she ran right towards it. In that moment though the original attack was made to strike and so it found it's place on Aorex, perhaps not on his forehead like she aimed for but it still struck him good sending him a bit away from the blast. Still he was ready for a good fight and while he did winch, he stood ready for more. Roxy couldn't help but wince as a flurry of sand went straight into Lucina's face. "So that's how you're gonna be, huh?" Lowering her accuracy...not a bad move. But she did hit him, and as far as she could recall from her time in the Trainer's School, Gibles weren't all that fast. That meant it was harder to dodge Lucina, right? "Alright Lucina, use Screech!" The Riolu took a deep breath before releasing a loud, high-pitched shriek, manifesting itself as dark blue circles moving straight toward Zorex. The hope was that he'd reflexively cover his ears, leaving him open for an attack. Aiden watched as his attack went threw partly blinding the Riolu and making it easier for his best friend to dodge the following attacks. Still he wasn't done and when the Screech came after Zorex he had only one thing, "Cover your ears!" To which Zorex happily did to reduce teh impact of the attack, "Now use Sand Storm!" Again Zorex listened as again he breathed in deeply before unleashing a torrent of whipping sand that engulfed the entire field, cloaking Zorex and making the whipping sand beat against Lucina. Roxy's eyes widened as the entire field was covered by whipping sand; she hadn't been expecting that. "Lucina, cover your eyes!" The Riolu immediately heeded the advice, covering her eyes with her arms. It made her exceedingly vulnerable to an attack, which...definitely wasn't good. Time to play defense, then. "Lucina, use Quick Attack to move back away!" The Riolu whipped around, moving at an extremely quick pace to try and back out of the storm. Roxy figured that this way, she put more distance between the two Pokemon so that it would be easier to dodge Zorex. The storm Zorex kicked up seemed to enpand more and more as He puffed more and more wind up to amplify it, still he couldn't keep it up forever and eventaully had to stop, mostly because Aiden said, "Zorex! Use Sand Attack, send that storm after Lucina!" WIth that Zorex took in another deep breath casting out the entire storm after the Riolu as well as aiming to further reduce her accuracy. Letting the whipping sands do the part of damage dealer. Roxy had to give Aiden props; he was actually really clever. But that wasn't going to stop them now, was it? Sandstorm was moving toward them; surely he couldn't maintain it forever, right? "Lucina, shut your eyes." This was going to be risky. "Use Quick Attack, rush straight through the sandstorm!" Lucina took a deep breath, shutting her eyes and sprinting straight toward Zorex. There would be some damage dealt; the sand whipping at her face created small scratch smarks. But she emerged out of the sandstorm as determined as ever, heading toward the Gible and hoping to slam into him with her whole body. With Lucina so far back and blinded by all the sand Zorex had plenty of time to brace and ready himself for the charging Lucina. Taking his moment to prepare Aiden yelled out, "Now Zorex! Finsih this! Dragon Rage!" At the words of his best friend Zorex inhaled once again, letting a sharp blue glow rise from his large mouth before bursting forward in a large, ball of blue fire, lashing out directly for Lucina as she hid her eyes and had sand in them all the same. His only goal, a direct hit with all his might! In a certain sense he was successful. His sttack struck true and blasted Lucina directly, but becuase she was already so close to Zorex he was also caught in the blast, feeling the effects as well as both Lucina and himself were blasted in seperate directions. Zorex rolling a few times before standing up ready for more, though it was clear that didn't feel good at all. "Lucina!" Roxy couldn't help but be fearful for her companion as she watched her get blasted backward before shakily rising back to her feet. That was surprising in and of itself; Dragon Rage was very strong for Pokemon at their level. What could they do at this point? Zorex hit harder, but Lucina was still faster...perhaps if she could hit him and back up quickly, he wouldn't be able to retaliate. "Okay, Lucina! Use Quick Attack, then rebound off of him!" It was a maneuver they'd been working on a bit, but it might be their last chance. Lucina crouched down, before sprinting toward Zorex at an extreme speed. Her plan was to jump and kick him back, then bounce off of him to back away quickly. Aiden and Zorex both watched as Lucina wasn't done yet. She was tenacious and determined that was for sure. In a certain sense of the word he wasn't even expecting it and that left Zorex open for her lightning fast attack as she leaped forward and struck true on Zorex, kicking him and making him roll once again back only to stand right back up after giving a rough flinch and grunt. Now it was his turn though and with the sand storm still behind Lucina Aiden said, "Zorex! Keep it up and use Tackle!" Aiden's hope was that with Lucina being so hurt from the blast and with all the sand effecting her she'd be slow enough to take teh full effect of Zorex's Tackle. Roxy was hoping he'd try to hit her with a physical attack. She was worried he'd try to use Dragon Rage again, though it'd be terribly risky. But he was going for tackle...Lucina had a special move for suck an occasion. "Quick, Lucina! Hit him with Counter!" The Riolu became outlined in a silvery, reflective sheen as she prepared for his attack, bracing herself to take the attack and crossing her arms over her face. As soon as Zorex hit her, the silver switched to a dark orange as Lucina attempted to slam her paws into Zorex's body to knock him back away from her. Aiden saw what she was doing only at the last second and in a last chance to help Zorex he yelle dout, "Zorex! Stop! Don't Tackle her!" But it was too late. Zorex had enough time to reduce his speed which in turn would reduce the damage he recieved, but even then when the orange blast burst out he flew back once again, rolling some more before stopping on his belly. Still, he wasn't done and stood up with a bit of a struggle, this wasn't done. Aiden yelled out once again, "Zorex! Use Dragon Rage while she's recovering! Don't hold back!" And of course Zorex was much abliged, so he sucked in air, making the blue glow once again before firing a massive ball of blue fire directly at Lucina. Roxy's eyes widened as she saw the blue blast headed straight for Lucina, immediately shouting "Lucina, dodge it!" But there wasn't anything the poor Riolu could do; she took the hit square in the chest, getting blown back several feet. Roxy knew that her poor friend was done in, and let out a defeated sigh. Even her bandana was singed at the edges. "Wow. That was...that was a great battle!" She laughed a bit before hastily walking toward Lucina, gently lifting the Riolu up. Thankfully, they had a healing station in the Lab, as her friend was completely knocked out. "We'll get you next time. I'm sure of it," she added, winking at Aiden before sending Lucina back into her Pokeball. Both Aiden and Zorex watched as the Dragon Rage struck true, ending the fight and making them the winners. Of course the two were happy to be the winners, but Aiden wasn't one to rub things in and Zorex had taken a beating so all he could do was let out a triumphant roar to which Aiden said, "Great work buddy!" Before runnign out onto the field to pick him up. The champ wasn't gonna walk to teh healing staion that was for sure. At Roxy's words Aiden smiled at her and said, "I agree that was awesome! I trust that it will be teh same next time and we'll have to watch out. You almost had us!"
With the intense battle over with Aiden walked up to Roxy wanting to head back with her to teh nurse so that they could all get healed up together. Aiden refused to put Zorex in his Pokeball as Zorex wasn't a big fan on being in it. Besides, he needed to be with Aiden and not on his hip or in his bag. "I have to say, that was absolutely amazing, I didn't see that Counter at the end coming." Aiden said trying to strike up a conversation for the trip back. And it was true, he'd hoped that would have been it and it may have been had she not used that at the perfect time that she did. "I gotta ask too, you have any plans for after this? After that battle I'd be honored to tag along or have you tag along with us. It will make the roads safer and more entertaining and this way you'll get your chance at revenge!" He continued to say hoping to not only keep a conversation going, but to also get a friend that he could travel teh region with. Especially a friend who is so evenly matched with him and his best friend.
