As stumbling young couple, it was no surprise that they received looks from the other patrons of ‘aw’ and ‘look at them, they’re so cute.’ James’ face went from soft pink to bright pink but he couldn’t take his eyes off of her. She was so kind, and always had been, since he and Annie showed up at her house. There was always something… special about her, something he couldn’t quite put his finger on that was important and yet, she continued to prove herself more and more amazing. A gentle sigh left him as he returned the gentle squeeze to her. Upon climbing into the car and hearing her request he gave her a bright smile before turning on the car. “I’m glad I’m not the only one who wanted to be selfish.” He responded softly as he turned on the car and pulled out of the parking lot. “I have a few blankets in the trunk. And I know where we could go.” It was about a four minute drive with a steep incline up a hill before he pulled the car to a park. “However, it’s not a park, I’d rather take you somewhere a bit more special. Annie and I discovered this place before Adrian found us.” He explained in a soft manner, not really desiring to go into detail that they were living in the location he had taken her to prior to his employment. But it was the most beautiful location he could think to take her. Climbing out of the car he opened her door and helped her out before retrieving the blankets. “Come.” He said softly as he took her hand and guided her along a path. Soon they arrived at the clearing of the hill showing the open sky. Letting go of her hand, he laid out one of the blankets and folded the other one at their feet before helping her sit down. The stars danced around them where they were in the opening showing nothing but their beauty for miles. The area was secluded and no houses were to be seen except off in the far distance. James through himself back on the blanket for a moment and stared up at the stairs in remembrance. It had been a long time since he was out at this area but, the situation had changed. He and Annie were out here in a time of trouble, and now he was out during a time of enjoyment. A claim, relaxed smile was in place of his more serious expression as he finally relaxed he was in a much better situation than he was before. After a good ten minutes of enjoyable silence and company he rolled over, his forearm resting beside her; unintentionally pinning her into place as he gaze down at her. His eyes were soft, tender and kind while that relieved smile played across his fine lips. “Freya…” He said in a whisper so that the world could not hear. “Can… can I kiss you?”
