Novis Shannon | @Lab PokePark
It was an almost cozy feeling, waiting in line. Everyone around Novis was still burning off the excitement from their own matches, the passion of battle filling them with motivation for the rest of their journey. Nov felt it too, of course, but it didn't feel like some big adventure. More like a natural progression, the next step from where he was. Regardless of what it was, though, it felt good and he couldn't help but feel eager to walk across every route in the region, to conquer every gym. Before long, the nurse was able to treat Nier. The Growlithe gave a little whimper as Novis picked it up and set it on the table. The nurse came over to deal with the shaky little dog, so Nov stood to the side as he waited for Nier to be treated. Both the woman and her Audino were busy with helping people heal their partners, so Nov scanned the rest of the park. A few battles were still underway between other eager trainers. It was interesting to see how the style and background of people shone through in their battling, the kind of person they are. The variety was astounding. The sound of the nurse's voice caught his attention, and he turned towards the direction of it, assuming that it was because Nier had been healed. The only thing he saw was a Gible leaping from the table, and Novis instinctively fell backwards with yelp. Something leapt onto his chest, forcing the air out from his lungs. Before he could catch his breath and shout something, though, he felt the familiar warmth of a puppy tongue on his face. Novis looked down at what had attacked him, and was relieved to see it was just Nier. Novis rose to his feet while cradling his Growlithe and reassessed the situation. The Gible had indeed left off the table, but harmlessly into the trainer beside him's arms. It didn't look aggressive, but Nov still couldn't help but feel unsettled being close to it. "... That Gible's yours, right? Does it bite?" Novis shook his head, and Nier imitated the gesture. "Dumb question; of course it does. Sorry about that." He muttered, realizing he was interrupting a conversation between the two people. Novis looked both of them down. The girl had a Riolu, which Nov found markedly more intriguing than the Gible. Considering how they were treated at the same time, he assumed they had fought each other, but who won? The concept of fighting that dragon-type was also intriguing to Nov. It would be almost cathartic to win against a Gible, but he doubted if Nier was up to it yet, especially after that Fletchling fight... His mind was wandering too far from the subject at hand, so he quickly brought it back. "New trainers too, yeah?" Novis said, eager to get a better first impression than awkwardly freaking out at the sight of the two-foot-tall bite monster. "You guys doing Contest or League?"
