She tried to dodge but her reflexes weren't as fast she wanted them to be. One buried itself on her left shoulder and the other in her left eye. The heat from the shrapnel cauterized its track into her shoulder making the bleeding minimal initially. The second one hit her left eye, transecting her upper lid and then lodging itself into the cornea. Vision was robbed from her eye as the white hot metal lacerated the cornea and immediately opacified the surrounding area. She fell to the ground screaming in pain, her right hand immediately going up to her eye. The pain however, had some beneficial effect on Lily's disturbed mind. It brought forth a certain clarity she never had before. For a brief instance she knew who she really was and why she was in USARILN. But she had no time to think about those things, not when the battle was still raging. And as soon as she struggled to stand back up, the memories had already faded back into the mist of her mind. With one hand still covering her eye and the other hanging limply at her side, she looked to her team mates. Her good eye focused on the bloody mess the two remaining squirrels were feasting on. A body. "Oh God..." she muttered, horrified at the realization that it was one of them. Doing her best to ignore the pain, she focused on what she can do. From the looks of it, the squirrel abominations would soon finish their gruesome meal. Grant and Siena was the closest and it was only logical to assume that the monsters would go for them. She focused on the healthier of the two squirrels and a black string appeared on her right wrist, the other end of it on the squirrel's wrist. The pain immediately abated and vision returned to her left eye. She dropped her hand. Her target wouldn't be too happy with its new injuries.
