With her poorly-controlled power pushing at her, a new sense of wrongness tugged at her when Asta summoned her beasts, though Amuné didn't know the cause. It was just another nagging feeling, along with the pressure of unwanted images and the revulsion that the slime beasts caused. She was hiding again, not watching, her heartbeat pounding in her ears alongside the sounds of the others fighting. She could hear the bad Varuna screeching, death threats and what sounded like mad ravings. The girl was torn between wanting to know what was happening, for anything was better than waiting in fear, and absolutely not wanting to see the fighting. There'd been so much fighting, and she hated it, she hated it. Why did everyone keep fighting? Why did everyone keep trying to hurt them? She ventured another look out from her shelter, and the color drained from her face, and she gave a strangled sort of squawk. Those lizard-hound things, ones like that had attacked the group before. And that had been the time that something had hurt Ethan and he'd been unconscious, and she wasn't convinced that it was nothing like he'd claimed. Where had they come from? Did the Varuna control them too? No, that couldn't be it, because they were going after the slime creatures and taking them out. But if not him, then what was going on? She remembered how more of them had shown up in the middle, and suddenly her hiding place didn't feel safe at all. Ethan was farther back than Cecil and Nymira, with Asta off to the side, and he was using his magic from a distance. He'd said to stay put, but...that was before more creatures started showing up. With a gulped breath, Amuné signaled for Wyth to stay with her and dashed for where Ethan stood. He'd protect her, and between him and Wyth she'd be safe. Nymira was blasting slimes apart, but there were always more, and Cecil seemed to be doing okay against the strange tentacles that surrounded the bad Magi. The new lady was doing...something, it seemed. Something magic? But there was too much going on for the girl to figure out just what, with all the spells being flung around and the shrieks and explosions and the pressure in her head. At least if the new lady was Magi she maybe wouldn't make trouble for them, now that she knew they were Magi too. Amuné desperately hoped that was the case.
