Marche became more alert as Mateus approached him; Unsure of what the tall figure would do, giving the natures of those around them. He kept his hand from his blade, not wanting to threaten such an individual; Especially since they seemed to, at least for now, be on the same side. As the man stood before him, Marche loosened up a little; His voice seemed sincere enough, though the last encounter he had with someone so regal, he had almost been imprisoned: So remaining somewhat nervous was to be expected on his part. While Marche wasn't ready to explain his own situation to Mateus, he wasn't going to silently ignore the man's question: He appeared strong enough to wipe him out without much of a thought; So angering him wasn't ideal for Marche's lifespan. Beyond the madmen in armor, and the jester who threatened to destroy worlds; The one who stood before him was such an odd difference; Similar to how he was. But for two entirely different reasons. "It's Marche." The boy answered, not having much else in the way of information to give: If Marche was right, this world wasn't real, either: Just like Mewt's dream world, this place had him trapped. Or was this some extension of Mewt's world created to dispose of him? The thought was discouraging and harmful, but the boy wasn't going to give up: He'd get himself and his friends home, despite the challenges they made him go through to do so. Which gave Marche more thoughts; What if everyone here was from his Ivalice? From that small snowy town he had moved to before being brought to this place? It was odd to think that many of these individuals could be people he knew in real life, except completely altered by Mewt's perceptions. But if someone like that jester existed in his world, he hoped it was in jail; The boy couldn't imagine such a psychopath in his peaceful home, and noted to look into it after the town was restored. 'At least we aren't enemies...' Marche thought to himself, finding a sort of comfort in Mateus stating this fact: The last real friend he had made was a Moogle by the name of Montblanc; And he wasn't around here anywhere. Marche planned to regroup with him as soon as possible; But for now, finding new comrades was ideal for survival. Marche noted that everyone seemed to be on board with this fight now; They were like mercenaries hired to do the dirty work. Marche understood, mostly; He'd done a lot of work with his guild in a similar fashion; But was usually rewarded with money and equipment; Not such promises as restoring his world. That wasn't to say Marche wasn't going to try to make this work; If he could get his world back, he'd do it. Simple as that. "... What do you seek from this oncoming battle, sir...?" Marche questioned, unsure of the man's name: It was perhaps a little rude to not ask; But he had a lot on his mind right now, so maybe it was understandable. "So, where are these guys, anyway?" Zidane questioned, noting that this place they stood in was barren and empty aside from the current group. He wasn't exactly sure of where he was intended to go; Giving there were no signs of an opponent anywhere. Chaos finally sat upon his throne again, seeming satisfied with the agreement of his pawns: If it was even for their own reasons, they would fight; And that meant this cycle could go in their favor if given enough of a chance. The complexes of those he chose were a bit worrying; But those egotistical mindsets would benefit them on the battlefield; He saw no reason to continue to correct them if they intended to fight. "Cosmos has yet to make her move." Chaos stated plainly, unsure if it was her own cowardice, or a strategy to see who he would choose. Regardless, he expected nothing surprising; He was certain he'd see her choices soon, and that'd lead to the battle finally beginning. Chaos began to address them again with a casual wave of his hand. "I have no intentions of micro-managing your actions. Once these Warriors of Cosmos appear, it will be your task to find and dispose of them across this realm." Chaos wasn't leading these fools by the hand; They could find the Warriors without being babysat; They surely worked more effective doing things their way. "I shall not limit your methods. Slay your opponents in whatever way you see fitting; Just ensure that the job is done, and Cosmos is left defenseless. You do not wish to know the fate of those who fall in this realm." "So it's like a scavenger hunt for people who intend to kill us?" Zidane laughed at this realization; Managing to stop himself mere moments later. "That sounds like a LOT of fun." He added with heavy sarcasm; Not looking forward to having to hunt down his targets. Wherever they might have been. But if it was how it had to be, then so be it. He wondered just what kind of individuals he would encounter; This place was a real sausage fest; Maybe Cosmos would at least have a cutie or two on her side, huh? Maybe that essence of light wouldn't look too bad, either. "No restrictions?" Kefka said, amused. That was just the way he liked it; Being able to do what he wanted, HOW he wanted! Terrific! "I wouldn't humor any sort of restrictions you'd try to put on me anyways! By the time I'm done, this land will be but a wasteland of death and despair!" The maniac seemed pleased by the fact he could do what he wanted; And he was, as a matter of fact. He'd destroy every last inch of this world if it meant defeating his foes; By the time he was done, this place would be nothingness; Enough to make that void-raving fool shut his mouth, even! "So how long do we wait?! This is one game I'd rather avoid; So get to the killing, already!" Kefka shouted impatiently, seeming to become a little annoyed by the fact they were still standing around. "It will not be long," Chaos assured, glancing up towards the sky. If Cosmos retained any part of her mind at this point, she'd summon her warriors soon; He'd feel it when she did. Some of the more powerful of his pawns would surely notice it, as well. This "Baron" he spoke of; It was, for a fact, unfamiliar to her. What she found especially odd was the mentioning of airships; Nobody but the regent of Lindblum had managed such a feat, to her knowledge. The few airships that existed in the world were created by him and his ancestors; The fact another kingdom had airship development was astounding, if it were true. She curiously wondered to herself if the regent knew of this. Though, along with his words of his homeland, came a question. About a Dragoon, much like herself; By the name of Kain. It was a name most unfamiliar to her; There were hardly any Dragoons in this day and age, and the name did not sound Burmecian in the slightest: She'd never heard of a Dragoon that was a hume, like this man. And he had made it obvious by the way his eyes observed her that he hadn't seen a Burmecian before. This man came from somewhere bizarre, that was for sure. "I'm afraid I am unfamiliar with your friend: I have never heard of a Dragoon by that name." She responded as an answer to his question, disappointed she could not aid him in finding his companion. The idea of a Burmecian teaching a Hume their way of fighting was practically unheard of; Many Burmecians agreed that it'd cause them to have a disadvantage in the way of battle. Sadly, keeping their ways a secret didn't stop them from getting destroyed by mightier kingdoms with technology well beyond theirs. Thinking about it made her upset; Though she wouldn't visibly show it, as it had nothing to do with this man. "Your kingdom," She began as a response to Cecil's short explanation of Baron. "- Is sadly unfamiliar to me in it's entirety. I cannot say I have traveled the entirety of our world; But I can tell you I have never heard of a place outside of the Kingdom of Lindblum that has any hands in Airship development. They have recruited a majority of the brilliant minds from across our world; To the point I find it hard to believe that another kingdom, especially one as powerful as yours apparently is, has the ability to develop airships without being noticed by other powers." She wanted to help the man, but as of the moment it was difficult to really do anything. All she could really suggest was to go to a neighboring kingdom and search for answers: Though the trip would be tedious for one unfamiliar with the lands. Freya had no issue assisting him; She was wandering herself, and wasn't sure of why she was even in these ruins to begin with. Leaving as soon as possible was ideal to her. She looked up as the sky as it crackled; A roar from the sky making it clear the ruins were tiring of their presence. After a course of action was figured out, she would depart as soon as possible. She knew that she wasn't welcome here, but wasn't going to be intimidated by the spirits of the fallen. Even if their deaths weighed her down immensely. Quite a stiff individual, for seeming to be so young. The old man wasn't one to judge, however; He just found some things funny, even when others possibly wouldn't. Not that it mattered much, except when he gave others a hard time. It was all in good fun, regardless. "It is kind of crazy, innit?" Galuf replied with a small laugh, not taking this too seriously. Doing so was bad for his health anyways. "But you've got it all right so far!" Listening to Kain's offer; Galuf wasn't sure there were better options for him. He could get lost in these caves, or at least manage his way to a place where he could get some food and figure out his next move. "If we have a place to go, we should go! No point in standing around in this cold place getting sick." Galuf noted, listening to the man introduce himself. Only to, moments later, hear someone else shouting. "Who's being so loud?" Galuf questioned, noticing Firion appear. Galuf was a tad wary due to him having his sword out, but blinked and stared at the boy for a moment due to him having a slight resemblance to a friend of his; It was, however, quite obvious this wasn't one of his companions; But Kain seemed to welcome him aboard all the same, so Galuf would do so as well. "I agree; A group is always a safer way to travel!" Galuf seemed glad to have someone else along; It was just like Kain as said; The more the merrier. "Don't either of you go worrying about me, either. There's plenty of fight left in these bones." He assured, not wanting to have some kids looking after him; This place didn't seem safe as it was, they needed to keep themselves safe first and foremost. Galuf blinked, realizing he hadn't introduced himself to these kids. "Apologizes to you, Kain! I seem to have lost my manners!" He spoke with an apologetic tone, but seemed to pass by that and just return to his surprisingly energetic self within seconds. "My name is Galuf Baldesion!" He looked towards Firion for a moment, hoping the boy might be able to help him ever-so-slightly. "Have you ever heard of this 'Kingdom of Baron'?" Galuf questioned, before adding: "Or the 'Kingdom of Bal'?" She was starting to become suspicious; It wasn't a monster, she was guessing. Whatever did that sounded like a beast that'd continue destroying more: Was this someone luring her into a trap? She could only make assumptions as she continued along, making her way into a small opening in the trees; Noticing a slightly older girl by a tree. Who, honestly, looked pretty scared, despite nothing noteworthy being around. "Hey!" Ritz called out; Trying to get her attention without being overly loud, in case whatever was out there could hear her. She noticed that she was armed, and raised her hands lightly to try and seem like someone who wasn't threatening. "I'm not here to fight, okay? I'm lost." She explained in a very short manner, glancing about. She kept a fair distance as she lowered her arms, map still gripped in her left hand. "Didn't you hear that crash? It's not safe to be wandering around in here-" "HELLO!!! I THREW A TREE INTO THE AIR, ISN'T ANYONE PAYING ATTENTION?!" Ritz cringed, turning towards the loud voice; Still a short ways off, but not far. "I was right." She hissed, wary that someone who was capable of throwing a tree in such a manner wandered nearby. She looked towards Terra; Unsure if the girl was oblivious, or some sort of stupid. But regardless, Ritz knew she couldn't just leave the girl practically stuck to that tree; Who knew why that annoyingly-pitched voice was throwing trees around? "I don't know what that guy's problem is, but it'd be safer if we figure it out together." Ritz spoke firmly, survival being the most important thing to her right now. That guy was immensely strong, but if he was shouting at the top of his lungs, he was at the least maybe not very smart. What were the odds that this girl, that guy, and herself were ALL lost? Not likely, and call it sexist, but she was considering the tree-thrower to be the odd one out. "Can you use that?" Ritz asked quietly, gesturing towards Terra's sword. Hopefully she could; Though she seemed kind of out of it, so perhaps she'd be no help at all in a fight. Regardless, Ritz kept alert; Eyes focused towards the trees, but occasionally glancing back at Terra in hopes of a decent response... [@Gohan][@Shoryu Magami]
