His explanation held up at least a little. Blood was inherently filthy on a spiritual level. Men were crazed by blood. Swords were given their own malevolent will by blood. To work with blood was to stain your very soul, but he'd have to have waded through gallons of the stuff to get even a tenth of this smell and there was still that horrid scent buried underneath. She supposed he might actually be telling the truth, that he wasn't something wearing human skin waiting for the most opportune moment to play its hand, but the last time she'd assumed that a good women had died. There had been no other way, but that didn't mean it had ever sat right with her. If she'd seen through the damned foxes disguise sooner she might have found another way. She wouldn't be driven into a corner like that again. She would be watching this man. It was then that Freeman wandered over. He wasn't hard to recognize, the gods shared stories among themselves of daring heroics and the adventures of mortals. Ammy had half listened to most of these stories while dozing, but the tale of the One Free Man had seeped into her head simply through simple repetition. It was a particularly attractive tale because it did not, as of yet, have an ending and the story of the Free Man was continually retold and analysed in anticipation of the glorious conclusion which everyone felt sure was just over the horizon. He inquired as to her nature in that language shared by silent protagonists everywhere, and that set her tail to wagging. There was nothing quite as nice as meeting someone that spoke your language in a strange land. "...," she nodded her head and replied, introducing herself as Amaterasu, God of the Sun, and indicating her surprise that he could see her. She'd heard tell that his home was more on the technological side of the spectrum, and didn't expect anyone from such a world to be able to view her as she was. She took a quick glance over at the man and black and found that the other legend in the room had struck up a conversation with him. She decided that it was probably safe for now. No one would be foolish enough to try anything with Samus Aran right there, not to mention the others in the room. If he was in some sort of disguise then it was because he needed it.
