Instead of following Mu and attempting to traverse fairly unknown territory, he could just as easily track his every movement with his eyes; not to mention the fact that with Mu's current position and seeming plan of action put him at odds with thier target. Prowling through his home ground with weapons in hand in hopes of confronting another ninja wasn't the smartest thing to do and should of devolved into single combat. Just before Mu disappeared around a corner, Dio activated his Byakugan, budging veins signaling its activation to those who may have been watching. With its penetrating perceptive ability in operation, he studied Mu's Chakra signature; as per usual, all ninja had a measure of unique chakra flow that the Byakugan could easily pick up on. By studying and documenting a specific Chakra signature, spying and observation became all the easier; not to mention the fact that walls and structures became as transparent as glass. As was such, each and everyone of Mu's actions and interactions were accounted for and scrutinized. Those he met with were analysed and documented, although his one stop off lacked the power of a young ninja; but it quickly became apparent that the man either lacked the knowledge he seeked, or had tipped him of as Mu suddenly made a B-line for the exit, confusing Dio slightly. Readying himself to take off after the boy, he was surprised to find that Mu suddenly disappeared, and out from the entrance walked another Sarutobi. Had his eyes mistaken him? Had Mu somehow escaped his 'all seeing eyes'? With a scrutinizing glare all was revealed, like an image super imposed over another, Dio was able to see past the image brought before him. The Hyuga smiled, finding Mu's attempt to deceive him amusing. Maybe he hadn't taken into consideration that fact that the Byakugan could see and recognize unique Chakra signatures; and Mu's hadn't changed one bit. But what was his game? What was the point in confronting him with the skin of another superimposed over himself? Dio intended to find out, so he would play the boy's little failed attempt at a game. Without a word Dio preformed the basic hand signs for a jutsu: Ox → Snake → Ram, and within seconds the area was covered with thick white mist, blinding bystanders and Mu himself. Dio had complete control of the field of battle, his Byakugan capable of seeing clearly in the fine mist. Without let up, he performed another string of hand signs: a Tiger hand seal, used to summon a water clone who gave Dio a nod before jumping from the wall to the ground in the cover of the mist, stalking the boy with intent to distract; and a Ram → Tiger seal was used to spew high-viscosity, chakra-infused water, aimed at a Mu's feet. All was used to heighten Dio's already enormous tactical advantage, all that was left was for him to watch Mu struggle and fall pray to his on game.
