I finally get back into some fiction novels and this great one decided to pop up. Just my luck!" Sometimes it was nice to escape from the world from time to time, and Kohaku found that the occasional fantasy book did that well for her. She was fortunate to find Konoha in warm, bright weather today, and sitting outside with her oh so exciting novel just enhanced the whole atmosphere of it. The store had been much busier than usual last week, and Kohaku found herself in some extreme taijutsu training sessions with her grandfather for three days straight. She felt that she at least deserved a bit of rest today. Sitting on a high tree branch with a book in hand, and being sheltered by its leaves had always been Kohaku's strange idea of a 'rest day'. "Damn, half way already? Never realised the book was this short." She swung her legs over the tree branch, humming to herself as she flipped the dusty pages. A few minutes later, a grey-haired bear of a man would appear underneath her suspended feet, his eyebrow raised and his large arms crossed. Looking down from behind the leaves, Kohaku pushed away the smaller branches and responded with a similar expression. "So... you just gonna stay up there for the rest of the day Kohaku?" the man bellowed, cupping his hands around his mouth so his voice could reach the heights Kohaku had climbed. He really didn't need to, though. "Well, that was my original plan," she responded, shutting her book with a chuckle. "But if something's gotta be done, I'm all ears. I mean, it's been a long week, shouldn't ya be getting some rest today grandpa?" "Nah, nothin' like that," he chortled. "I was just surprised to find ya here after you'd told me about that thing you were supposed to be at today." "What thing?" "You know, the thing." "What, today?" "Yeah. Like, a team meeting or somethin' like that. You asked me last night to remind you if you ever forgot." "Team meeting... team meeting..." she repeated under her breath. Kohaku could recite over thirty species of birds found in the Land of Fire, yet she couldn't even remember what it was she was supposed to be attending to today. "...team meeting... oh. Oh. Oh no..." Clambering down the tree and tightening the black hoodie around her waist, Kohaku threw her book into her granddad's arms, taking off in a sprint away from the park. "Page 133 somewhere in the middle of it. Don't wanna lose my page or sentence so could ya please remember it? Cool, thanks, bye! See ya at dinner or somethin' don't know when I'm coming home exactly! Damn it, I just hope Inori doesn't kick my ass all the way to Kumogakure or somethin'." One thing that Kohaku hadn't taken from her grandfather was that awfully quick speech pattern of hers. Right now, Kohaku was in a terrible rush, and so were her words. "I... did not get any of that." ♪ By the time Kohaku had reached her original meeting point, she thought her legs were going to collapse in on themselves; her starting place was not as near to this specific training ground as she would have liked, and now her recently washed burgundy shirt was soaked in nasty sweat. Looking up, she saw her three other teammates, punctual, on time. What needed an explanation other than her own lateness however was the war zone of a training field behind them. Well, perhaps if someone placed her teammate Inori right in front of her, then she would easily be able to make sense of the destruction of Training Field 5. "Sorry guys got a bit sidetracked today, sometimes my memory refuses to work when I want it too, but it wasn't like I was gonna slack off or anything 'cause it has been a busy week and I thought I could get a bit of rest today, but still if somethin's gotta be done I'm all ears! I'll say that I'm just about ready for anything 'cause I can't exactly remember why we're all supposed to be here!" [@Kal-El] [@Gowi] [@Weird Tales]
