The Prussian stared at Otto, once again considering his answer. "I couldn't join, was forced see." he said, once again lying although his face belied nothing. "What about you, how did you get where you are?" he said, hoping the man would reveal as much as possible. Leonid moved his hands almost into the fire, not caring about the hairs on his hands turning white and then curling up singed. He just wanted to be warm and to live through it all. He pulled at his engraved flask and threw it in the fire. "Frozen shut." he said to explain why he did it. He didn't want the man to see the wonderful engravings upon it which would quite likely give away his participation in the Lizard union.
