Matrim "Mat" Victar

Age: 24 (technically 84)

Personality: Mat would at first seem like someone with a dark humor mindset and would actually seem like that kind of person unless he opens up at all.  He has no decency towards witches but will make small talk with them as he's trying to murder them (he claims it helps distract them).  In reality though Mat is completely broken on the inside, and any attempted recovery has led to worse results soon after.

History:
Mat has an elusive background that he reveals to only those he trusts (which is at this point no one at all).  Mat was born to a hunter family, but he never got to be with his mother as she died from child birth.  Despite the loss his father trained him from his first days in the art of hunting.  Mat has stabbed, burned, decapitated, and tortured lots of witches throughout his life with his dad.  While the father-son relationship may have seemed awkward on the outside, the two were inseparable and Mat showed true potential for being a great hunter.

However, at the age of sixteen, Mat's father was killed by a witch, which sent him into a crazed state on finding the guilty one.  Mat performed unspeakable acts for years, and finally encountered the witch while captured inside Castle Bloodrose.  She let him speak with his father and it brought peace to him for a time.  Unfortunately, the mental reparation was broke down by another witch experimenting on him, causing the mental instability to be brought back.

Matrim was able to escape the castle soon after, and returned with fellow hunters.  The castle was sacked but Matrim continued to have his internal problems.  He left the other hunters and traveled afar for a time.  One witch he encountered cursed him before he killed her and dragged him down into Purgatory with her.  Trapped in the other world, Matrim barely clung to life until he learned of a way out.  After sixty years, Matrim clawed his way out of Purgatory and back onto Earth.  He's done his best to repair himself, but his mind has never truly been all correct.

Signature Weapon: A black-painted spear that can detach at the end to be used for a walking stick.

Things they look for in a partner: Preferably one who's honest and won't stab him in the back.  Attractive and nice would assist as well.

Pets/Familiars: None.

Other: Matrim has done awful terrible things.  He's tortured witches just for the sake of it and killed a little girl named Sarah (sister of Abigail and Lotte).
