[@Ellion][@WeepingLiberty]
Arden
Chapter 1 Chores and duties
(Deep in the forest )
Arden cursed to himself as the brush end of the broom snapped to pieces in the massive mauling mouth of Mirai's monstrous sized giant bat, Sunni, who's attitude and demeanour were anything but that. He saw the irony in the name but could hardly appreciate it from his current status and position. Arden's ears rung violently to the point of near debilitating dizziness as Sunni screamed and snapped at him. The powerful jaw and razor fanged teeth mere inches away from his face. To top off Arden's discomfort and make matters worse, the bats hot sticky breath caused a humid wet slime to build up all over his head and torso. Arden hated that bat... He knew the creature wasn't allowed to kill him, but it surely wasn't afraid to hurt him either. Sometimes he wondered if Miria would even punish it should it accidentally kill him. If it bit off his face or drop him from high in the sky. With a fluster of rage Arden balled up his fist, stepped forward and punched the bat square in the face as hard as he could. He may as well have just punched a bull or elephant, it seemed utter pointless beside the faint relief it offered to his anger. Arden knew this and accepted it with a smile. Sunni's clawed hand slashed out across Arden's arm, knocking the remainder of the broom from his grip. A second claw struck the fleshy part of his calf sweeping him to the floor with a heavy thud. The giant bat then proceeded to drag him violently across the floor and out of the cabin. At this point Arden knew he had to stop resisting. Every wound could incite an exponential amount of pain if Miria took them as signs of disobedience. Suddenly the near full weight of Sunni pressed down on Arden's chest, shooting the wind from his lungs as it stepped on him to get a good purchase with its back claws. This had not happened too many times in the past but it was defiantly Arden's least favourite method of travel. With a few mighty swoops Arden felt himself getting lifted from the floor. Where in the hell are we going now and what does she have in store for me. he thought to himself as Sonni took off into the sky above the forest and flew towards the mountain with Arden dangling at its feet like some crippled helpless rat.
