When something piques its interest, it might respond with a subtle tilt of its head. The knight doesn't talk to its foes and nobody has been around the black knight long enough to know who is underneath that spectral armor. History The origin of the Black Knight is shrouded in mystery. It began to appear shortly after the fall of Castle Bloodrose and since then has garnered a reputation as an evil, unstoppable force plaguing the lands surrounding Seren's Folley. Many people see the Black Knight as a curse upon the land. One thing is known, the Black Knight is an avatar of death. Wherever it appears, the very life of its surroundings begins to fade. Long strips of woodland have become black scars as indication that the Black Knight had passed through. Many hunters and even some witches have sought out the legendary Black Knight in an attempt to kill it, none have ever been successful. In the past few years, the Black Knight hasn't been seen. Some believe that the evil being has moved on to another region, others believe that an unknown hero had triumphed over it. Unbeknownst to the world, the Black Knight still lives. And it is searching for something. Signature Weapon

The Black Knight wields a saber. Witches, or anybody with any magical aptitude, are able to sense the seemingly limitless magical reservoir within the sword. The blade itself is surrounded by a ghostly blue mist. Whenever the knight swings the saber, it leaves behind a trail of ghostly energy as it wails and screams through the air. Victims who survive a deadly slash from this sword are often driven mad, hearing tantalizing, almost seductive, whispers in the backs of their head. These victims either commit suicide, go on violent rampages, or simply disappear into the night. Those who recognize the blade, would know it as the saber once wielded by Death himself: The Sword of Charon. Signature Power People had once believed that the Black Knight was once a hunter from a long past age. But as encounters with the knight became more frequent, people began to theorize that the spectral entity was either a powerful witch, or a spectral resurrected lich lord. Regardless of the Knight's true identity, it commands great power. The very presence of the Black Knight is enough to cool the air and sap life from the earth. It has even been rumored that the Black Knight is capable of raising the dead to do its bidding. Worse yet, the Black Knight seems ethereal at times. Weapons have been known to pass through the body of the knight to no effect, and it has even been seen walking through trees and bushes without even disturbing them. At her best, Tera is an inspirational leader and charitable soul. At her worst, she is oblivious to the real workings of the world and somewhat arrogant. Tera cares for her people, and she wants what's best for them. Unfortunately, Tera is often overwhelmed with the steps she needs to take in order to accomplish her monumental goals. With her father's health in rapid decline, Tera is burdened with the constant pressure of ruling the nation and performing her duties as the crowned princess. History Tera's life was already chosen for her the moment she entered the world. She was to be heir to the throne. Tera was raised not only by her parents, but a handful of servants, advisers, guards, and ministers. Her childhood was always quite limited, never able to leave the castle without an escort of royal guard, never allowed to make any big decisions for herself, and never allowed to choose who she spent time with. Tera had remembered a handful of nobles and kings from other nations coming to visit in order to offer their son's hand in marriage, rather, arrange one. Tera was afraid that one day, she would be taken from her home to go and live as a queen in some faraway land. During Tera's teen years, things took a turn for the worse. Her father had come down with a life threatening illness and he was unable to rule. With a dead mother and no brothers to supersede the line of succession, all eyes had turned to Tera. She wasn't ready to lead anything, but the mantle was forced upon her before she could even prepare for it. In short time, Tera had found herself in war council, talking about things she didn't even know existed. Then, without the leadership of her father, the nation began to fail economically. Tera and a handful of her advisers were quickly set to restoring their financial stability. After four years of tireless work, Tera had finally managed to fill the gaping void that was the empty throne. Despite her title still be princess, many looked to her as their true leader, Queen Tera Valenci. Her father's condition hadn't changed over the years, but Tera had caught wind of a potential solution. It took plenty of convincing, but eventually, Tera's ministers allowed her to chase after the possibility of a cure for the king's sickness. Tera took her father's amulet, which he always guarded closely, and made for the infamous region surrounding Seren's Folley. But she wasn't going alone, a dozen of the kingdom's best hunters and huntresses left with her to serve as her personal guard.
