"[color=red]See, at least someone wants to try![/color]" Escobert snapped out at Brannor. Before joining to help Parum, he yelled at the guardsmen at the door: "[color=red]And corporal! Just in case this does not work, go fetch Mr. Lake.[/color]" He couldn't quite figure out what governor saw in these people. As one of the soldiers hurried off Escobert lifted one of the parts on the door to help the bard, trying his best not to lose his temper again. These people thought they knew everything, he could see it in their attitude. They were too young to understand... he'd probably been in charge of this keep alone for longer than they've lived, and he had seen his fair share of combat. He knew how to prioritise. On the other side of the room, where Brannor had tried and tried again to stop their prisoner from dying in their hands, as they finally got their head injury in check, the man had already drawn their last breath. He knew the man had been still alive just before the last attempt, but there had to have happened something drastic during his final attempt. The prisoner didn't seem to be alive any longer.
