At this time, the game is about to enter it's first mission which will determine, by the end of it, what teams the characters currently in the game will be placed into. Any characters joining after the first mission will be automatically placed into Alpha Team. Those players who completed the first mission will also be awarded a second character slot if they so wish to use it. If you are planning on making a second character, then please let the GM know so that the GM can place your second character under reservations. Team Placement will be determined by teamwork and character performance. It will not be judged based on writing quality, although, clear and creative posts are always appreciated. I won't be revealing the mission until my next GM post. It'll be a surprise, but I want to explain the run-down here. Because we have 17 characters, I did at first contemplate making two separate missions but being as I am the only GM that's not going to happen. So what I decided to do was to break the teams up into 3. There will be a team of 6/6/5. There will be team leaders randomly assigned except for the senior-level player. In this case, I'll outright say it, Edward Buck is going to automatically be a squad leader. Squad Leader: (this definition is just for this game and is not to be confused for the IRL responsibilities of a squad leader in the actual military) The Squad Leader is the overall leader in charge. All TEAM LEADERS will report character health status, conditions, etc. to him/her (In this case we know it is a him). The Squad Leader can then choose to swap characters in and out of certain teams and sorry, but if the Squad Leader pulls your character out, then he/she is out. If one team is weak due to injury or power imbalance, then he can swap that character out to put a healthier character or even up the team powers. The injured character can then properly receive care without being pinned down in combat. The Squad Leader manages the field, but do not forget if he screws up, then he can just as easily lose command and the command will be handed off to the next random character/or senior-level character if we had one. The Squad Leader will determine what teams take what positions, what paths, what areas, etc. So all characters who aren't the squad leader need to listen to the character that is the squad leader regardless of competency. This is the point of it being a game. Team Leader: (this definition is just for this game and is not to be confused for the IRL responsibilities of a squad leader in the actual military) The Team Leaders' responsibilities are to not only keep track of characters' health and ammo/mana levels, but to keep communication with the Squad Leader. The Team Leader is the only one who reports to the Squad Leader. The reason being is to prevent confusion. We have 17 characters in this game and the Squad Leader, I'm sure, would rather hear the reports of two other people versus 17. So your character needs to send all their problems to their Team Leader. The Team Leaders also command the team to execute certain strategies. Your characters even when not the team leader can always contribute advice to the team leader, but it is up to the team leader whether those tasks will be executed or not. Items: The Squad Leader and the Team Leaders will receive the first items issued by the GM in the game. They only get a limited amount of items so it is up to them to use the items wisely because once they're gone, they're gone. Everyone is going to be sent to the same Game Verse, but there will be a series of tasks that each team will have to perform in order to finish the mission. This WILL require the teams to spread out and separate to execute these tasks. The GM will not tell you what those tasks are. Instead, as you read through the GM posts and study the character dialog and interactions, as well as see how the world is set up, then you can figure out how the mission will go. There are 17 players in this game. Someone is going to figure it out unless you all are special. lol But teams will be revealed and the first mission will be revealed in the brief. If you read this, then I want this post to receive "Likes." It is very important that I know you read it because I'm going to know if you didn't. You're going to be "that guy" who is like, "What's going on? Why is this happening? Wah!" and then start blowing up the Squad Leaders communication line instead of going through the Team Leader, and I am going to give Zero Fs. I hope the Squad Leader pulls your imbecile out.
