I am a bit curious who everyone else would have made gay though, and how that would have been any less scummy. would the gay community have taken offense if Winsten was made gay? an ugly, hairy ape representing the GBLT movement?

It really is a shame that Tracer's preference in genitals was the draw for the comic. There's actually a really cool story about the spirit of Christmas in there, but it's been entirely overshadowed.
