In that regard we need to take everything with a grain of salt. I would think, regardless if it [i]seems fitting[/i], a canonically accept route would be the best one to take.

Edit: When you remember Ryo doesn't orginate from the Anime, he's from a game but made cameos. Almost anything goes in the game universe
