"In the great scheme of things," Brannor began in rebuke, coldly looking over the dragon's ally as that wounded man and his life slipped away at the same time, "I think this door would still have found itself fixed." He scowled before rising up, dusting his gloved hands free and paying no further mind to the casualty; the man was already dead when he sided with these pawns of evil - it was better to just be done with it as it was rather than toying with them should they survive. It was not as though the enemy would be so kind as to give them a swift death Brannor took it, intelligent and evil beings had a tendency to do far more wicked or vile things to their captives. What would a dragon and its followers be willing to do in revenge for their meddling ways? If it did not involve cruelty beyond need, he would have been colored surprised. As far as the man was concerned, the half orc had the right notion about the matter. Holding up in these stone walls and getting picked at by the dragon's marauders and its occasional passes was more or less a lighter variety of siege. So far this keep couldn't keep muster against that. The wise thing to do would to, as much as he hated to admit it, capture another as Parum had suggested and reminded him and exploit the orc's tactical approach; the green man wasn't a fool in the slightest. Simple in his wording and the finer details, but everything was right about it. Brannor just wanted to take it one step further, aiming for a more valuable target... but for now, he merely approached the other three at work and threw his strength in with calm ease; as frustrating as the dwarf proved, leaving this door open was not going to help anyone here or elsewhere other than the damned invaders. It was divine providence that they happened to be returning this night, launch a rescue into the heart of the battle, succeed and reach the keep, only to get this fortunate turn of events that the halfling had some means to repair the door. "Can this thing be barricaded or barred this time around to avoid this in the future?" Brannor put forth his arms, pushing some of the ruined pieces together, "I would rather not return to do this again." Perhaps some of these regular soldiers would be of use, other than errand boys. Brannor was left to wonder, but as his body worked to secure the pieces, this all reminded him of one of many reasons he preferred to avoid "civilized folk".
