Name: Vitruvia Procyon Gender: Female Role/Order: Battle Sister, Order of Our Thrice-Pierced Martyr Personal Demeanour: Vitruvia is stoic and reserved, with a burning hatred for the heretic. Not that she doesn't hate the xenos or the forces of Chaos, but the thought of a human turning their back on the God Emperor fills her with rage. She seems a prototypical member of the Adepta Sororitas at first glance but her stoic demeanor hides her dry sense of humor. Speciality: Raised from a childhood inside the Schola Progenium her physical gifts were evident early on. Intensive reprogramming installed the seeds of fanaticism during her formative years and brutal training sessions built the foundation of elite hand-to-hand and precision accuracy. The child of two heavy worlders Vitruvia is tall, and exceptionally athletic. She specializes in the use of a Godwyn-De'az Pattern bolter, bolt pistol and chainsword. Rank: Standard battle sister, but with eyes on ascending to the rank of Celestian. Description: Descended from a long line of heavy worlders Vitruvia is very tall and athletically built under her standard issue power armor. Her back is heavily scarred from intense self-flagellation and her hands are criss-crossed from many hours of close combat training with blades, to prepare her to face the enemies of the God Emperor with chainsword in hand. Like many sisters she bleaches her hair white and wears a bobcut. Fair skinned and blue eyed she has the harsh, heavy boned facial features typical of her home planet due to its high gravity. Her power armor is typical of members of her order; black with gold trim and white partial sleeves and skirt. It does, however, boast more rounded shoulder plates and numerous nicks and grooves in its black ceramite surface, as it is an older model that has outlived many of its wearers. Vitruvia is rarely seen without her helm, either tucked under her arm in times of relative safety or snugly atop her head. Its thermal vision, flash and concussive shock protection, atmospheric filter and cerimate armor have saved her life several times. History: Vitruvia is the firstborn daughter of two nobles upon a heavy world whose population consisted mostly of serfs who worked the dangerous task of digging into the earth and mining the rare metals created by the abnormally high gravity. It was brutal, backbreaking labor and serfs were frequently worked to death to meet neigh impossible quotas or crushed in horrific accidents caused by the intense demand to provide materials for the nearby Forge Worlds. Although no effort was spared to inspire the lowly born to the righteousness of their work some malcontents proved resistant to the daily sermons that blared through the mines. A revolt ensued. Making such ridiculous demands as 'wages' and 'days off' they soon made it clear to the righteous nobility that their cause was both absurd and an affront to the God Emperor. Public executions, however, failed to restore the flagging moral of the PDF or curb the growing heresy engulfing the planet. Tragically the Emperor fearing nobility were overwhelmed and executed by the rampaging mobs spreading across the mining-cities, Vitruvia's parents among them. Declared martyrs for personally taking up arms in the name of the God Emperor and denouncing heresy even as they were being led to the pyre Vitruvia was taken into the Schola Progenium as the child of martyrs after the reconquest and purge. There she excelled, taking to the physical training with exuberance and demonstrating a surprising athletic talent while also scoring highly on marksmanship. Receptive to mental programming during her formative years she was instilled with a love of the God Emperor and a burning hatred for heretics of all stripes. Shipped off to the Order of Our Thrice-Pierced Martyr immediately upon graduation she was further indoctrinated into the Faith and trained to fulfill the duties of a battle sister. As always she excelled in, and enjoyed, her training and soon found herself donning power armor for the first time. Though talented Vitruvia has seen little action. A few operations to clear nests of heretics in the sprawling hives of nearby worlds and one hair raising cleansing of xenos in the burned out husk of a Rogue Trader's ship is the most real combat she has tasted. Equipment and Armament: She wears a sturdy chainsword with adamantine teeth at one hip and a bolt pistol at the other. Her Godwyn-De'az bolter is adorned with a scope that provides variable magnification and range finder. Vitruvia is also fond of drum magazines containing 60 rounds rather than the typical 30 and carries one in her bolter and two more on the small of her back. Aside from her combat equipment she also carries the robes of her order for use when out of armor, a weeks combat rations, a dataslate with various hymns and sermons and a whip for self-flagellation.
