Looking for 3-4 people for a low fantasy NRP. Only current rules are that you can deliver on these three points. • Interactivity [sub]Everybody's favorite part of RPing is reading other people's takes on their creation in the form of a reply. The geographical constraints used in NRPs often end up with limited interaction, which leads to thread death. Solution? Everybody has characters in everybody else's regions at once, so everyone will be juggling a few plots.[/sub] • Imagination [sub]Without pulling punches here, another reason a lot of NRPs die is because one of the players has put less effort into their nation, which frustrates the players who are next to that nation whose interactions are mostly with the literally lesser-developed nation, so they become less excited about posting, which leads to stagnation, which leads to thread death. Don't be that guy.[/sub] • Dedication [sub]The last reason NRPs tend to dwindle? People get bored! By submitting interest, you're not promising you won't ever get bored with this RP, but you are promising you will try really hard to vocalize your opinions on the RP and not drop off the face of the planet. Sometimes the days between posts accidentally become a week and it feels awkward to ask if anyone else is still there -- I've been guilty of this myself at times -- but this time, let's all just try to at least shoot the shit in the OOC to make sure nobody's silently dropped out.[/sub]
Other than that, there's very little I have in mind, I don't want to ask for too much off the bat. If anyone's interested, let me know which of these three plots you'd prefer. Frozen NRP: The scale of the planet on the map we're using is much bigger, so our continent is relatively small and very far north. Characters will have relatively Scandinavian naming conventions, drink mead, wear fur, and probably fight with axes. Think Vikings. Temperate NRP: The scale of the planet is twice as big as the continent we're using, so the north ends at the north pole and the south ends at the equator. Characters will have relatively Western naming conventions, drink wine, wear tunics, and probably fight with swords. Think Game of Thrones. Expansive NRP: The scale of the planet is the map we're using, so both poles are visible. Every country has a drastically different culture due to their size and distance. Characters will have all kinds of naming conventions, drink, dress, and fight differently. I don't think there are any shows that go to this scale. Marco Polo, I guess? Rome?
