Golen listened to the calming voice of Akita, and leaned against her legs. It always reassured him. Over to the parking lot a few feet away, something the size of a cat bolted from one car's shadow to another. The starlight rimmed upon the creature's back for just an instant. Golen froze as he was used to whenever something would catch his eye, pointing his nose at the creature.
