Here are my two proposals, just so you can read them over. I'll let you know once I do some test posts which one I'll be picking as my first active proposal; but I'd still like you to give input (and others as well) on them. I feel like Absolute Comics could be a good medium to approach her as a dynamic character in her own right. Truthfully, this all chalks up to me wanting to play someone more clever and without any of the gadgets or superpowers— though make no mistake my interpretation of Vicki is not a damsel or without ability to defend herself. Victoria Vale is a resident of Gotham City who has been more gritty and ruthless with her investigative reporting— while Lois Lane is out there winning Pulitzer’s Vicki herself is in Gotham trying to make sense of everything while she juggles all forms of investigation. She wants to know the story behind the man she has coined “The Caped Crusader” after he dismantled Carmine Falcone seemingly overnight, she wants to make sure Gotham is represented by the uncorrupt, and wants to relentlessly get involved. Using her connections in the GCPD, City Council, and even the Red Hood Gang she wants to make it her life to save Gotham. In many ways she and Batman are parallels of one another, an irony that is not lost on her. Conceptually there are variety of stories I could utilize with the red-haired reporter and given I’ve never written noir from this angle before it could be fun. I think I could have her first story be a reflection of her career— when she first encountered Batman, when she interviewed Carmine Falcone, her cooperation with the GCPD, her stance as an ally to Batman, and so forth. It’d be a detective pulp sort of retrospective.

[SUP][SUB]
Ω N O T E S:
[/SUB][/SUP]

The prospective story incorporates mentions of Batman and actual appearances of Katherine Webb (interpreted as a GCPD detective in this universe), Carmine Falcone, Harvey Dent, and other characters. I would also be open to writing the character in guest spots with the Batman player.
◼ 1992: Vicki Vale graduates from an inner city high school in the borough known as “The Narrows” in Gotham City. ◼ 1997: Vicki Vale starts her career as a journalist, graduating with honors and ahead of schedule from the University of Gotham. Soon afterward, she comes across a low-level position at the Gotham Gazette where she mentors under senior reporters and correspondents like Thomas Blackcrow and Vic Sage. ◼ 2000: Vicki Vale continues her investigation into the Falcone Crime Empire despite threats from local enforcers. Eventually her investigation causes her to become aware of a bat-like creature that is attacking Falcone’s operations— she would come to dub this creature as “The Caped Crusader” in an article speculating that Carmine Falcone’s paranoia was a telling sign of the state of his “empire”. The man is question is Thaddeus Bach, a former member of an elite strike force and a detective from the futuristic terran utopia that is Eidolon IV. In his origin story, Thaddeus Bach was betrayed by his comrades when he discovered that the group he had been recruited into wasn’t entirely as altruistic as they claimed and found himself left for dead on an outer rim planet with only a cryptic designation as one of the many “ghost” planets charted in the astrogation records. It is here that Bach discovers the technology that would shape and arm him to become Space Ghost. Thaddeus Bach frames himself as a “ghost” upon realizing that whatever ties to his life before have all been taken from him by his former comrades. His brand of justice twists into vengeance and ruthlessness, and after an internal struggle that results in this he leaves his homeworld and its source system to find greater meaning in the galaxy at large as a vigilante, justicar, and insurgent in his crusade to protect innocents wherever he can and by whatever means necessary. Bach swears that tragedy, suffering, and corruption will be his enemy going forward. And thus the story begins. Conceptually my first story with Space Ghost is to follow one of his early years dealing with politics— namely when he is hired to investigate a series of politically gray issues by the galaxy’s central political directorate, The Galactic Tribune.

[SUP][SUB]
Ω N O T E S:
[/SUB][/SUP]

The prospective story involves the Nova Corps, the Green Lanterns, the Galactic Tribune, the Tamaranean Empire, The Branx, The Gordanians, and various other marque cosmic/science fiction-related factions and races within the universe. I am open to collaborating with anyone choose they wish to. I would likely need the go-ahead with the GM to incorporate this during Starfire’s “Year One” as well. But it should fall into the timeline without issue— it would take place in the past when Space Ghost was a little younger than his present form.
