Essentially it’s come to the fact that the majority of my experiences in my 16+ years of role-playing on forums makes me really anxious. Whether it is in fantastical RPs or survival horror (particularly the zombie kind) there’s always somebody who fetishizes the katana and utilizes it poorly. However, I’ve seen it done well and know fully that my nervousness is mostly due to bad experiences. I love the katana— it’s a great sword and fun weapon to incorporate (I actually really liked Seiken no Blacksmith’s take) and I’m willing to let people use it.

You know the “katana badass” tropes— so just make a fun and interesting character; show me how you do the thing.
