The realm is ruled by the Krishkov family consisted of the king, queen and their twelve children.  The eldest son is destined to rule when he finds a mate and his siblings are expected to find a mate before they turn a certain age. 

Humans exist but only as a food source. They are not allowed to be anything else. A few live in the castle but most of them come and go when food is needed.
