[@Gunther] Hmm.. I only picked that because I know a lot about it, however, perhaps we could be partners? I mean if there are several colonists their would need to be more then one doctor. 

If however you are set on it, I could make my character the Chief of Engineering as I have a fairly large knowledge of that subject as well and it doesn't seem as though anyone else has chosen that yet. If you had a character already in mind then go ahead and go for your first option and I'll go with my second. =]
