[@Hillbilly12] As of right now there isn't any kind of development for gunpowder. As for trade by ship, there is some but, it's mostly by travelling caravan. That being said, the ships you had in mind would work well in this scenario. I can add a chapter about trading after you put your character up if you'd like! Feel free to put together whatever lore you would like to about trade in your character and I'll incorporate it.
