Seth Halen
"I think you're right about not being able to make him talk," Seth replied, "So I think following is the right answer." Jaden did raise a good point about being able to keep up with him. A skateboard may not be able to keep up with a vehicle, but it would be much faster than two boys on foot. But, then again... "We don't need to be able to keep up with him," he said definitively, "We just need to keep eyesight. They're smart, and they went on about how legal and on the up and up they are- they'll be doing everything they can to not draw any attention from the authorities. That means he'll be obeying traffic laws to the letter. We can make use of that... but we need to get moving now." Seth reached back into his backpack, grabbed the jam again, and tossed it to Jaden. "So eat this on the way, it'll get rid of your headache, and we'll get your partner back. Now come on, we need to move!" With that, he slung his backpack on and started to move after the skateboarder.
Hestia the Alolan Vulpix
Sirens sounded behind her as Hestia ran. Her little legs were throbbing from her haste, but she dared not stop; Master Ke- no, just Kevin she reminded herself, had never been one to let things he considered his property get away from him unwillingly. And if that kind of mistreatment was the norm for Kanto trainers... there was no way the police would take her side, or even listen to her plea. So she kept running, ducking into any corner she thought she could take and putting distance between her and the Lodge as much as she could, even until the flashing lights and wailing sirens had long faded away. Finally, she dodged away behind a super market and took a moment to catch her breath. Setting her ball on the ground, she shifted back to her human form and doubled over, supporting herself with her hands on her knees as she heaved through the pain. For the moment, she reflected, she hadn't been followed. But was that because nobody was chasing her... or because she'd momentarily lost them? She couldn't be sure one way or the other. "Either way, I stick out like a sore thumb..." she thought aloud to herself, "I need to find a place to hide..." She chanced a look around, and her eyes alighted upon an old fire escape. The super market had apparently been retrofitted onto the first floor of an old two story building, and the fire escape from the second floor had gone unused for quite some time. It was too low to reach from the ground, but if she jumped on top of that dumpster there she could reach it. With little time to lose and few other options, Hestia grabbed her ball off the ground and started to climb. She nearly fell twice, but her fear and the adrenaline that still surged through her veins kept her going. Finally, she reached a broken window on the second floor and climbed inside. The interior was just as abandoned and unloved as the exterior, but at least it meant nobody would come looking in here for her. Exhausted, she collapsed into a corner and rested herself. Night would come soon, and she'd need to find something to eat, but most important right now was staying hidden. Come morning, she decided, she'd need to head for the forest around the city. She could find peace if she got there. With a plan firmly in place, Hestia closed her eyes and allowed sleep to come. (OOC: The sirens Hestia heard were the police and the League going to the Lodge to investigate the Club. She only thinks they were going to come after her.)
