He speaks up when he believes something is wrong or when he views somebody's behavior as harmful or otherwise unacceptable. He is the sort of person to give when he has nothing, to drop everything and help when somebody is in trouble - up to a point. Leeches and manipulators are quickly shut out, usually permanently. He holds grudges against such people for a long, long time.
