Generally quiet. Rolf tends to keep to himself and dislikes the amount of effort it takes to maintain a long-term friendship. This does not mean, however, that he is shy. He speaks up when he believes something is wrong or when he views somebody's behavior as harmful or otherwise unacceptable. He is the sort of person to give when he has nothing, to drop everything and help when somebody is in trouble - up to a point. Leeches and manipulators are quickly shut out, usually permanently. He holds grudges against such people for a long, long time.

Most of his time is spent either in his room or out learning about people. His most prized belongings are his four different types of microscopes and his surgical tools. Ever since his arrival, the school seems to have far, far less vermin running about for some reason.
