I don't think I replied to this before, even though I meant to, so:

It could still end diplomatically. It's just that either Crow has to give up or Sophia has to go with him willingly. I believe Emuxe already plans on having Sophia go to the Wastelands for plot reasons, so... Crow's just gotta [b]give up[/b] or deal with a Revenant, a Fleshspinner, and some random fire elemental all at once. 

I guess he could pretend to give up and try to stalk them, but with the Revenant's sense for Nephilim and Shertul's senses in general, it would probably be hard. 

I'm so sorry. I didn't plan it this way at all, I swear. :lol
