“The one usefulness they have is to distract people. Considering I have no intention of bearing children, either, they play their part well,” Shion admitted outright, lightly tossing her hair behind her. Lorenzo raised an eyebrow at her, his eyes briefly wandering, though he did a better job of controlling his gaze. He put on a grin, placing both his hands on his hips as he would let out a laugh. “You went and saved our asses, and you’re a friend of Jaakie’s! I’m Lorenzo, pleased to meet you, Sharon!” Shion remained quietly, briefly distracted by Lorenzo, but she would instead turn her attention to Jaakuna once more, her amber eyes curious. “I admit, I did not expect to find you here of all places. Why go through the Palace when you’re welcome to walk through your own doors?” She mused out loud, though her questions seemed entirely rhetorical as she seemed to know the answer. “I suppose there’s no point in asking. Let us carry on, then.” Lorenzo peered at the woman, cleaning out his ear. “I’m sorry, ‘we’?” She let out a sigh. “It can’t be helped. Jaakuna clearly has something to do here, and it wouldn’t do if I whisked him away now, would it?” She lamented quietly, a finger on her cheek as she looked at Lorenzo. “And what do you want with Jaakie?” “That’s none of your business unless he wishes to indulge you.” “And how do I know we can trust you?” A rather seductive smile traced Shion’s pink lips, and she would approach Lorenzo. The man was asking too many questions for her liking, and he needed to be punished. The blonde’s eyes widened as she would bring him into an embrace, her clearly large rack pressing up against him. Despite probably earning the jealousy of millions of men everywhere, he was clearly uncomfortable with the physical contact, especially when she would lay down her head on his shoulder. He let out a yelp of pain, immediately backing away as tiny scratches appeared on his neck, where her rose had touched him. It glowed rather guiltily, and she would bear her usual, serious expression. “Let’s get moving.” She ordered, continuing onwards without waiting for anyone’s acceptance.
He was calling her tactless?!The nerve of this man was getting quite far from Nadeline’s usual tolerance of ignorance. He was mocking her, that much was clear, although she wasn’t quite sure where all his confidence came from. As he spoke, there was something quite familiar about his mannerisms, his passion, the way his eyes lit up. Had they met somewhere? Never in her life would she ever forget someone so insulting who made light of her words, but she couldn’t quite shake off the familiarity. She did recognize the name of the guild; the news of their disbandment from Dalmasca had come quite suddenly, though no reason had been given. And then, he would bring Sylvester to him. Or at least, bring someone to him. Sylvester could not have been that much older than Wesley, but the man in front of her indeed looked as if he was on death’s door. But there was something off about the entire situation, something that wasn’t completely adding up. Why did they share so many similarities? Better yet, she had been looking for Sylvester, but she had yet to ask exactly who the man in front of her was. Ultima made a sound, but offered no counsel. Nadeline silently cursed the Esper, who clearly knew something she did not, but wouldn’t say a word. So the usual, though Nadeline admitted she hadn’t expected the Esper to be so bratty. Why wouldn’t she just help her out and not throw a fit anytime Nadeline needed her? For the first time in her life, Nadeline hesitated. No, now wasn’t the time for doubt. Taking in a deep breath, she would compose herself properly, staring straight at the man. “I fear an apology is due,” She spoke lowly. “You would have me believe this man to be who I look for? And how exactly am I to blame? Sylvester and I have never had the chance to meet, let alone would I be the reason for his murder. Even so…despite all this, what I want to know now is the truth. Who are you? Why would you show me this man with no explanation? Why would you bring me here already knowing what I wanted?”
