This was not what she had been expecting for the day. "Yes of course, do what you must Mr. Connolly," she said quietly as she lowered her hand. It wasn't the first time she had seen someone succumb to a Soulless but that did not make the situation any less traumatic though she had to wonder why he would take the carriage to the Cathedral that would take at least a half an hour to get there even with the horses during this time of the day and not just go to the church that was a few doors down, or at least if he was going that far out of the way why did he not take her to her own Church at St. Peter's where there was someone there that was familiar with the family. Yet he had come and gone so quickly she was left no time to question or barely even answer him. Turning back to her guests she brought herself out of the thought process to address them. Taking in what each said in turn she gave a tilt of her chin before speaking. "It seems that all of you require your attentions elsewhere for the time for the greater good. Please do not let me hold you from your set destinations, I do hope to find you at the event this evening. If you would prefer I can have my butler summon a hackney for you both to quicken your steps." she said respectfully before turning towards Virginia and singling her out. "Do you need to leave as well or did you wish to discuss this favor you had in mind before you leave? I know that you are well aware that I will be of any service that I can be to you. I shan't be able to leave the manor until this evening for the event though I fear. With the current happenings I feel it would be prudent if I remained to guard my sisters and my mother in my fathers absence. I could not in good conscience leave it to the staff of the house to place their lives on the line for my family. I hope you can forgive me." "Millicent Wyndham, do stop gallivanting about outside with these outcasts! You must prepare yourself for the evening ahead if you dare hope to make up to Lord Rutherford for your atrocious behavior towards him this morning," Mrs. Wyndham bellowed out of the front window on the second floor. Millicent felt her jaw tightening but relaxed her features before she turned to face the woman who was not only calling down to her but speaking down to those around her. "Yes mother, I shall be up post haste," Millicent managed to call back before turning and facing the ones with her. Elizabeth scoffed and slammed the window shut before dropping the curtains down once again. "Do forgive my mother, she is nervous about this evening. Please, allow me to have a hackney called for you two, I will pray that you have no other encounters with the Soulless this evening and to be blessed with your presence at the event this evening," Millicent said in a disheartened voice before gathering the folds of her skirt and making her way back to the steps of the manor. Stopping to speak with her butler for a moment before walking over the threshold. The elderly man came out and to the street, a few snaps of his fingers and a whistle later a coach pulled up to the sidewalk and the driver hopped down, opening the door for those that chose to use it. "With Miss Milli's compliments," the butler said to the driver, handing him over several pieces of silver for his troubles and to cover any distance within the city that he may need to take them. "Very generous Gov, now, where be we off to?" the young boy asked, he couldn't have been more than twelve winters of age but that was not uncommon for drivers in London. His clothing once used to be finery but it was obviously handed down several times over and was far to large for him, yet he was making due and he smiled over towards them. Millicent was not sure what she could do to help her friend but she was willing to do anything she could for the woman, she was dear to her, few were.
