Adelfa immediately noticed his hand gone from her shoulder, but didn't say anything. Maybe his arm just got tired. Either way, the moment Adelfa heard about the bridge lifting up, her blood turned to ice. "You think they'd really lift the bridge like that?"

"Alright!" Adelfa said, excitedly taking the radio out of his hand and into hers. Could she even stay close enough to him to keep the radios communicating? She pushed the silly thought away and her eyes met with Blake's. The young woman immediately became flustered as she stammered, "S-shouldn't we start getting to our cars?"

"Yeah," Adelfa agreed, shaking Blake's hand, "I'll see you there!" With that, the two parted and went into their respective cars. "If my parents found out they'd kill me!" she said to herself in the privacy of her car.

Adelfa was startled to hear the walkie-talkie speak to her. She quickly picked it up and attached it to her dashboard. "Yes, I can hear you!" she replied, releasing the button. Her car was at the starting line and her eyes scanned the crowd around it. Where was Calix? Would he be waiting for her at the finish line?

The cars were ready the countdown started and right before he said," Alright, don't hold down the pedal after you rev your car ease into it. Then take off at full speed." Blake revved his car. Then the person saif go as every car took off.

"Okay!" Adelfa replied, understanding. She revved up her car, though its engine wasn't nearly as impressive as some of the others. At the signal, Akita took off with the others, doing as Blake said by easing into her car's top speed.

Blake was thaking 4 place easily as it was barely beginibg of the race and as he turned. Some where ten miles away the had the bridge up ready for the races. And they turned the fifth turn( quick skip to the bridge part) blakr was in first as he wakie adelfa," hey they actually picked up the bridge, do u have nos in your car? If not don't jump it."

Adelfa kept steady in 7th, unable to overtake 6th, but refusing to be taken down to 8th. Her blood rushed. Any bad movement could result in a crashed car and she knew her insurance would cover little of it. "Nos," she muttered. Hadn't he put that in her car? Yes, he did! "Okay, got it!" Adelfa said as they approached the bridge.
