Thomas had just returned to his humble home. He didn't really do much that night just spoke with his fence and stole some food from the rich. No real effort was needed. He did catch a guard spying on a noble woman presumably in the nude. He may no like the nobility but perverts he liked less. So he set the man up to be caught.
