[@Prince of Seraphs] I think what happened with Skyward Sword was a lot of people expected it to be an open world game and it really wasn't. Personally I enjoyed the game, though not as much as twilight princess.
I wasn't expecting open world but a finished one would have been nice. It was like they spent so much time on gimmicks and mini games that they forgot to complete the game. The controls were terrible, the sky was enormous with nothing but a small town in it making getting anywhere a pain, and there was no freedom of exploration. You were painstakingly guided through every aspect of the game without any need to actually figure things out for yourself. Not to mention the final boss died in around 2.5 minutes or less. The story had some interesting ideas but the most original ones were sidelined and went mostly unused while those that got the main focus were all Zelda cliches executed in the most generic manner possible. Fi who I liked in concept was thoroughly insufferable and Ghirahim, and actually original and interesting villain was swapped out last minute for a generic Ganondorf rip off. Worse than all of that though, because of the nature of the controls and how badly they were designed a friend of my couldn't even play the game because he has a muscle condition which makes his hands shake so he was physically unable to fly the bird.
