Black Adam

"I have returned, and Hell follows behind me."
Teth-Adam 1200 BC ( Ancient ) Male True Neutral (Chaotic Evil when empowered)

C O N C E P T A B S T R A C T:

The idea is for Adam to have obtained his powers from darker, less neutral sources than the Egyptian Gods or Shazam, thanks to a plot by Mephistopheles. This Adam's powers come at a cost, and are as much of a curse as a blessing, making him think twice before transforming. I intend to have Adam hunt for a way to be rid of his curse, while also getting caught up in the scheming of Mephisto.

I have always had this image of Charles Xavier in my head that maybe some where down the highway he and Erik wernt so different in their views, but where Magneto took things to a physical point Charles played the political scene. For this interpretation I really want to explore Professor X as a force that your not sure you can really trust, an uneasy ally or a person that you owe a favor to. In a nutshell I really want to explore more of the psychological thriller-esque of what Professor X and his X-Men could be.

"I am the best there is at what I do."
J A M E S H O W L E T T A N C I E N T M A L E C H A O T I C G O O D

C O N C E P T A B S T R A C T:

My goal is to play not only a much older, but, to some degree, a much more powerful Logan. Not just a mutant born a couple of centuries ago, but a man who's been part of every major conflict in man's history. A Personification of a warrior, in times of his life, blurring the lines between man and beast, as much of his life will have been spent in what can only be described as his legendary berserker rage. My goal is to tell different stories set through time where Logan partakes in one battle after another. At one point, he's a Legate in the roman army, fighting one tribe after the other, curbing them all under his blade, the next, he's a Templar fighting for the holy pope, in the next he's fighting for the south in the American civil war, a revolutionary in the French revolution and the one after that he's a masterless rounin at the end of the Edo-Period.

Writing stories around his desire for combat, testing not only his limits and abilities, but perhaps look to a cure for his anger, while also bringing up shades of my personal favorite versions of Logan. His representation in X-men Evolution, and Hugh Jackman's version will both be huge inspirations for me, which is how through all of the ordeals I have in mind for him, is where he'll end up.

Most stories set in the past will be tragic, I'll try and write as many human stories as beast stories, and to blur the line between the two, to explore the themes of, and ask the question 'is Logan really a man'. Due to the nature of my approach to Logan, he can partake in just about any storyline, he is effectively immortal, been alive longer than most, and I thus hope to do a lot of interaction with others, in any time period.

In the present, he'll be a lot less rage-based, I will go for stories where he pushes for some kind of higher-calling. Picking fights for moral reasons, not because he wants to shed blood.

N O T E S:

Born in ancient Greece, many of the epics written about legendary heroes like Achilles are based upon Logan. He fought against a thousand men in Troy, he was the only man inside of the Trojan horse, butchering everyone in his path till the Greeks could take the impenetrable city.

He is a mutant making him one of the first of his kind, yet, due to the time he's born, he's interacted with the Gods upon several occasions. Ares is one he's had many interactions with, his infinite rage and lust for battle always truly fascinated Ares, and he will on the regular bring on challenges for him, pitting him against his enemies or just for his own amusement.

His powers remain mostly the same to the regular canon, he heals, he's got superhuman senses, and expendable bone claws. My idea is that during the first world war, he got his metal skeleton, but we shall see how compatible that is with the overall world. What would truly be different about him from a combat perspective would be the degree of skill he'd hold, he would've fought, and killed just about every type of warrior mankind's ever produced.

I really just want a chance to make great, stories with Ted because he's a really fun character. This Ted's been in the hero game for a long time, starting out as a sidekick for Dan Garrett before taking over his legacy as Blue Beetle. I think Ted has the potential to be really entertaining and interesting to write and read because there's this duality to his nature in a lot of ways, a crimefighter and genius inventor but also a total goofball. I'm not sure if I have grand plans or some insightful human drama or anything to spin out with Ted, I just want to tell fun stories with him and contribute to the Singular Universe in ways I enjoy and that I hope everyone else will enjoy too.

SUPERMAN
"Being Superman isn't about what planet you're from, or what powers you have, or what symbol you wear on your chest. It's about what you do. It's about action."
Clark Joseph Kent♦ April 18th, 1978 (39) ♦ Male Neutral Good

C O N C E P T A B S T R A C T:
My first attempt for Superman in this RP was....a little too ambitious for its own good. Not to mention meta to the point of outright pretentiousness. After spending so long away from roleplaying, I'm going to dial it back and make sure I've still got the fundamental chops to do justice to my favorite character. No weird time warps or fictional awareness, just prime-era Superman at the top of his game, fully formed and easy to interact with. I may get weird with it later, but first and foremost I want to have some fun, save the world, maybe bench-press the moon a couple of times, that sort of thing.

N O T E S:

Superman's powers, supporting cast, and rogues' gallery are more or less the same as they always are. I'm willing to make edits if, f'rinstance, someone wants to play Supergirl differently from what I have in mind, but the general idea is that everything is accessible and within people's expectations. The exact details may be a little different here and there, but it's nothing too wild.

In New Frontier, I incorporated Carol Danvers and Jessica Drew in a way that both heroines could be utilized to write superhero spy romps, adventurous escapades, and overall kind of silver age-meets-modern age cheese. I have a lot of untapped potential in playing out stories with them so I’m going to give it another shot since my Vicki Vale and Jason Todd POVs are more auxiliary tools to tell Batman stories with Jon (Green Grenade). This will likely be my final POV I request for this game unless I finish up with Space Ghost.

I will be retelling my “Geomancer” story with tweaks to start off before springboarding into other stories.

I will also be forward to working with other prospective characters that are rooted in the modern era including ventures in space, political bits, and with some leeway from the X-Men player to touch on the governments involvement in dealing with Magneto's Brotherhood of Mutants. However with that in mind I do not simple wish to copy and paste my posts from New Frontier, so things will be adapted and revised so I am just not giving the impression that this is old hat material.

Ω N O T E S:

I will be dealing with the supervillain known as Geomancer as my central antagonist (or first one), but the idea is to explore SWORD/ARGUS/SHIELD so expect characters like Nick Fury, Amanda Waller, Abagail Brand, and their ilk to show up.

With Mark, I want to write a coming-of-age story. He’s a hero that’s always trying to find his place in the world – hell, the universe – unsure of whether the way he goes about things is the right way, and of whether the burden he brings onto the ones he loves, and society as a whole, is worth all his efforts. Even with Superman’s mentorship, he’s going to struggle with being Invincible; with knowing that his father is a threat, not an ally; and with all of the troubles he’ll be forced to face, and put his family and friends through.

No matter what kind of person Mark turns into, be it a hero or a villain, I just want to tell a good story with a character I love.

The timeline's pretty underwhelming in terms of writing, but it should give everyone an idea of Mark's background.

DANNY PHANTOM

"Going Ghost."
DANNY FENTON APRIL 3rd, 2001 (15) MALE NEUTRAL GOOD

C O N C E P T A B S T R A C T:

I know he's just a children's cartoon, but bear with me, I think with the right direction, Danny Phantom can become something really special. While the show delved into comedy and hit trope after trope of an after-school superhero show, I want to do something different here in Absolute Comics. I want to hit the themes that are inherent in Danny Phantom's concept that the show couldn't cover due to its target audience.

Basically, I want to tell a ghost story. A real ghost story, with horror and chills and moments that make you remember that this is just a fifteen year old kid who died because of a dare, woke up, and found himself launched into a terrifying world he didn't know existed until moments ago.

That being said, I don't want to stray too far from the core of Danny's character. He's still going to be that immature, snarky, occasionally selfish but mostly heroic kid that I grew up watching. He'll still banter even though he's terrified, still find ways to have fun with his ghost powers, and at the end of the day he's still going to give it his all to protect the people he loves. But I'm going to try and incorporate a bit more of an edge to this version of Danny. The supernatural is amazing and horrifying, and fear makes people do drastic, at-times unsettling things in order to protect those they love. This Danny will have to make choices, have to deal with the consequences of his actions, and have to learn that not every battle can be won. That sometimes you lose, and sometimes you lose people, and the only thing you can do about it is learn from your mistake and make sure it never happens again.

The first story arc will be set in 2016 right before his sophomore semester starts, and deal with Danny's coping with his own death and his first few harrowing encounters with ghosts.

TLDR: Danny Phantom: Year One (but the ghosts are actually scary)

N O T E S:

I'm placing Amity Park in northern Minnesota and planning on keeping the majority of the ghostly encounters hidden from public knowledge, which might help explain his relative obscurity in the superhero community.

I'll eventually get a timeline up and running for the little ghost-dweeb.

This is my first time being in this kind of genre on this site, but I feel good enough that I can survive it. I picked Catwoman because I love her to death and I always wanted to change Catwoman around a bit. I also wanted to bring back Red Claw for the animated series and make her more of a threat to Catwoman than ever before.

This version's Catwoman had a tough life, like the original Catwoman. However, her parents would die because of drugs and alcohol. The detention center, combined with the abuse back home, made her life more tougher to live in. It wasn't until she found the carnival that life began to treat her good, but good things don't last long. She was forced to live on the streets working with Stan the Pimp. She made several friends, but she knew that she couldn't let the abuse keep on happening. So she fought back and killed him. Normally, Selina would of been fine with it. However, my version was fine with it at first.

Years after thinking of the possibilities (thanks to the Batman's influence), she would come to regret killing Stan. Batman's influence and their 'relationship' would impact her for her remaining life. She knew about this and left him behind, trying to turn back into the 'old' Catwoman. It never went away. However, she would be challenged by Red Claw after not finishing a job for the Claw. It took years for Catwoman to hide; despite her best efforts, Gotham suffers a terrible earthquake and Selina races back home. Now that Red Claw most likely knows that Catwoman will be in Gotham, it's only a matter of time before she's gets attack.

Normally, she would ask Batman's help; however, she can't bring herself to go to him with every problem. So, she tries to capture Red Claw on her own. Both Catwoman's and Selina Kyle's morals and ethics will be conflicted during this plotline.

N O T E S

If your character would accepted the bounty and/or spent time with Catwoman during 2007-2012, then give me a headsup and we could come up with some sort of fun plot together.

"The king is dead. Long live the king."
MORDRED PENDRAGON c. 527 AD (1,490) MALE NEUTRAL

C O N C E P T A B S T R A C T:

Inspired by Marvel's Fear Itself storyline and the Doctor Strange movie set in the Marvel cinematic universe, this take on Mordred borrows heavily from the wealth of literature and the historical literary debate surrounding the role of Mordred in Arthurian legend, with the obvious nod to the DC Animated Universe. Is Mordred the hero? Is Mordred the villain? Is Mordred just a victim of fate? It's true. All of it.

Mordred is the son of Arthur and his half-sister, Morgaine. Like Arthur, he was conceived through deception and illusion, marking that the difference between Merlin and Morgaine is one of perspective rather than methods. Also like Arthur, who was used by Merlin in bringing his envisioned utopia to fruition, Mordred is a means to an ends for Morgaine. He is to her what Arthur was for Merlin, a means by which to rule the one who wears the crown and be free of the crown itself (all the power, none of the responsibility). He served as a page and squired for Sir Brian of Kent, also known as the Silent Knight, and wielded Clarent, one of the swords of King Arthur.

He and Arthur were both present for the Battle of Camlann, at which Arthur wielded Excalibur and Mordred wielded Clarent, the latter of which would become broken - and the broken shard of Clarent would find its way into Arthur's mortal wound. But what really happened is a litany of lies that have been told to satisfy the egos of the three people who manipulated all the events leading up to Camlann. Merlin. Morgaine. And Morgaine's lover, Jason of Normandy (also known as Jason Blood). Somewhere inbetween the lies, the egos, and the conspiratorial whispers designed to grasp the throne of all Britain is one young boy who never asked to exist and yet is judged by history for no greater crime than being born.

To some, he is the rightful heir to Arthur's throne. To others, he is history's most magnificent bastard. And none now live who could claim to know the right by any of the deeds he may, or may not, have performed.

Setting the stage for our story, Morgaine Le Fey has vanished. The search for his mother reveals a threat to England, if not the world, propelling Mordred into the footsteps of his father and his mother both. Will he become the knight he was meant to be? Or will he become the villain history has made him out to be?

N O T E S:

BASIC TIMELINE

• 527 AD - Morgaine le Fay, half-sister to Arthur Pendragon, enchants and deceives her brother in order to conceive Mordred - the first in a grand scheme to depose and replace Arthur that would seat her as the Shadow Queen of all Britannia.

• 536 AD - Mordred becomes page and squire to Sir Brian of Kent, the Silent Knight. When his knight loses his sword, Mordred goes searching for a replacement and returns with Clarent, King Arthur's knighting sword. Historians debate whether Arthur bestowed the sword to Mordred or if Mordred simply stole it, the latter being the more popular in line with Mordred's modern interpretation as the traitor of Camelot.

• 537 AD - The Battle of Camlann, in which Arthur and Mordred fell. It is unclear from the oldest surviving histories whether Mordred fought with or against Arthur, though this was the battle in which Jason Blood did betray Arthur and conspired with Morgaine le Fay to depose him. Over time, authors have associated Mordred's name with treachery, and laid the blame for Arthur's death on his hands.

• September 1919 - A British archaeologist by the name of Morganna de la Fontaine (Morgaine le Fay) presents Adolf Hitler with the Spear of Longinus, the lance that pierced the side of Christ, enabling his rise to power. In exchange, she asks only for access to German research in the years to come.

• 1925-1927 - German Meteor expedition to the antarctic. Crew lists include Morganna de la Fontaine (Morgaine le Fay), who guides the expedition to covertly recover the Crystal of Kadavus during sonar mapping of the South Atlantic Ridge.

• 26 January 1937 - The first full moon on the 1,400th anniversary of the Battle of Camlann. Using the power of Crystal of Kadavus on Mordred's remains. As he was conceived with magic, the artifact partially restores Mordred's being, but does not restore him to life.

• 25 February 1937 - The second full moon of the 1,400th anniversary of the Battle of Camlann. Using the Crystal of Kadavus, Morgaine le Fay restores Mordred to life and, drawing power from the realm of Annwn, casts a spell granting him eternal youth.

• March 1942 - Negotiations on the rule of England following Nazi victory in Europe are postponed after Allied victories in Germany prompt Morgaine to take Mordred and flee Nazi Germany. The pair settle on the Isle of Murias in Annwn.

• April 1953 - The bicentenary of the British Museum, which is celebrated with a showcasing of artifacts related to the legend of King Arthur, including Goswhit, the helmet of Arthur. Mordred creates a public disturbance when he tries to recover his father's helmet, only to be stopped by Sir Justin (Ystin).

• May 2005 - The E3 convention in Star City, California. Mordred attends and is attacked by Etrigan the Demon, seeking to draw out Morgaine le Fay. The wounded Mordred is enchanted to sleep until it is time for him to claim his kingdom (and to keep him from wandering off) by Morgaine.

• January 2017 - Mordred awakens in the Castle Murias, with no sign of his mother. Leaving Annwn, the boy searches for clues as to where she may have gone, and what she may have been doing.

THE GREEN LANTERN!"
Alan Scott 12 February, 1837 ( 180) M Neutral Good

C O N C E P T A B S T R A C T:
For this iteration of Alan, I'm keeping most of his story the same and will be combining parts of the original concept for him as well as the Earth 2 version. One major difference with this iteration will be Alan being much older, being alive during the construction of the Transcontinental Railroad and getting his powers from an accident during that time. I will also be making Alan bisexual in this iteration, having a wife during his life before getting his powers and then a husband later on, probably during modern times around 2013 or so. The third major difference will be Alan having more to do with the Green Lantern Corps and possibly accepting an offer to join their ranks later on. I want to explore Alan in multiple time periods, both on Earth and in space.
