Eric was immediately met with an interrupting whistle. Another male had tried to whistle in the hopes of disrupting the group's chats for some reason. It was extremely illogical, and the noise itself phased Eric none due to the nature of having worked around loud machinery and whistles through many jobs. However it did very much irritate him that this other male was arrogant and causing such a disruption for no reason other than the males own ignorance to the situation. Nevertheless, Eric merely ignored the origin of the whistle to move on to the truly important matters at hand. "Bribe you for it, huh Marcus? I don't believe in bribing. A cop taking a Bribe.." Eric let a low chuckle emerge. "You must be a Dirty Cop. You wearing a wire too? Bribes and a Wire?" He let the joke sit for a moment before he shook his head to the man a moment. He then shifted his weight on his right foot for a moment and nodded. He was listening to Gavin direct and appoint out who would be joining him for the recovery of the tablets. In all earnest Eric's mind went straight into a surprised state that he was included in that team but he quickly and logically surmised that his association onto the team was by Marcus's request and his appointed duty of watching Marcus. As well as now it seemed he would be watching a few others along the way to the Tablets. Eric was now assessing more than just the basics. He couldn't just sit and speak to Marcus as a single now, he moved turning to glance at Kasumi and then to the appointed Tablet group. He was observing them once again, noting what each had said prior and which of them made mentions of their power and their personality traits. This was quickly spurned as yet another spoke out about how they would be unhappy and would deny anything less than this very team.. it was Charles. "I will state I will not accept unless I'm in the group for finding the tablets" he would say. "you will need one of my abilities for inside purgatory." he states. "I can control the Dead, Zombies and Skeletons are the main things I can control currently" he states "I can speak to the dead, manipulate bones in various ways, and finally see spirits" he states out, mainly to let gavin know his abilities not caring about the others anymore. "This includes the living spirits along with the dead" he says. "One can tell a lot about another's spirit, it does not lie unlike the person. It is their true personality" "This Necromantieon will hold much for me in terms of knowledge, possibly allow me to gain more abilities, maybe even allow me to enter and exit purgatory at will" he says rubbing his chin, this part was more to himself than others but he didn't talk softly at all. "O ya and my cantrips... The more dead around me, the stronger my minions are" he states "So more minions, stronger the others are. Or even if it's just dead bodies still they will get stronger. I can also detect dead bodies in a short radius around me, and finally I can naturally detect anyone using the same magic as me in a certain radius" Charles was rather adamant that he was going with the Tablet recovery team, no matter what was said to him apparently, and this was going to be yet another gnawing trait of Charles that would irritate Eric. It was up to this point that Eric found little relief in the words of the mass at this location. Many of them were logical, but many of them were not, and it was beginning to drive Eric to an edge. The rambling, the arrogance, the disruptions, the disputes, the hiding. It was biting and grinding at his nerves more and more as he listened on and on about them all. He grit his teeth however, and forced his iron-will to settle for them for a short time longer. He was silent, it was better this way too, as he listened to that boy speak of his supposed level of power. Eric made a mental note to himself. That of which was less a note, and more something he wished he could say aloud to them all. "Power. You all speak of power. Outside Gavin, who seemingly has the instruction booklet to this whole scenario, how do you all claim to be so powerful? We have had MAGIC as a whole, for merely a couple weeks, until today none of knew this Necromanti-fuck-us even existed. Yet you seemingly know you will be able to control the undead there? You just seem to 'magically' know what is there, what it holds, and whether you will have power over it? Your egos astound me! You fools, you gathering of idiots."
"Units, at attention." A simple voice spoke from the corner of a garage. This was an Auto-body garage on the outskirts of Brightwell. "The OP is Dark from here on out. No Names, No Ranks, No Signals to Branch. We are simply units. All of us. You will follow orders in design, respond only with yes, and move as directed. We are going to clear this by the playbook. We are going to do this with ease, caution, and yet power. We will detain these freaks. Collect & Detain. That is the OP. They are hold up in the Hotel across town, we will move in slowly and take them before they know what has hit them. We all know why we do this.." The voice silenced a moment later and a large collection of Units responded with a nod and a "Yes" presented in unison. Then they quickly moved about the commandeered Auto-shop. Crates and containers laid about the floor and were stacked around on tables and benches, and these containers held the Unit's gear and equipment. Several men started packing on Flak armor, however it wasn't normal and it too wielded unique ceramic plating within it that restrained the effects of magic, and drained nearby magic. These "Heavies" as they were referred, then armed themselves with Breach charges which were folded leather-like satchels that unfolded four wings to reveal the simplistic wiring and arming device in the center. They would be able to stick to floors, walls, ceilings, any surface that was flat and made of a breach-able material was fair game for these items. The "Heavies" then quickly loaded up their Shotguns, not with Buckshot or slugs, but rather with XREP brand 12-gauge rounds which are offered by Taser's Production. However, they have the additional bonus of offering the Ceramic nullifying trait in their barbs, and internal housing. These rounds immediately induce paralysis and intense spasms. As well as they can be fired accurately up to one-hundred feet without worry of sway or deterring from aimed target. These were given to the Heavies for good reason, they were the front line and the breach Units. During the same time, another set of units were gathering their own particular gifts from their provider. These units were wearing much lighter variants of the standard armor the bulk of the units would be wearing, however their Ceramic armor was still very present in smaller plates, with more of them located across the armor. This allowed a tighter, more lean, more agile suit. These units would be the "Runners" and "Snipers" of the OP. There were only a handful of them compared to the rest of the OP's units, but they were among the most skilled for their job. They would gather their arms much more quickly, which were extremely unique and unheard of for such an OP. They loaded and prepared Advanced TR-22 Tranquilizer Rifles. These rifles were long and heavily resembled a carbon-fiber Mosin Nagant. This was of course due to it's modern design and take, but it was essentially a modern frame of the World War Two, Russian Mosin Nagant. They were loaded up with a Air-canisters and then they packed their Tranqs into the Ammunition Sleeve among their upper-arms. These particular Tranqs were interesting, as the use of Tranquilizer Darts in militaristic or Police Enforcement forms is unreliable, and not fast-acting. If a Dart contains a tranquilizer too heavy for the target, it will overdose them and put them to a halt lethally. If it is too little, it will take ages to work on the target, and even then it may not fully incapacitate a target. These tranqs were designed with a very unique tranquilizer in mind. It isn't the standard style of tranquilizer, rather it is a neurological paralysis-inducing serum. It quickly affects the nervous system and sends signals and stimulates that send the system into a full shutdown. This shutdown however isn't total shock, or internal shutdown of the organs and body, merely the basics to ensure the target undergoes safe, non-lethal paralysis. The extra "tip on the spear" for these Darts however is that the syringe of the darts are made of the same nullifying magic as the armor they wear. These were the two special "squads" among the operation. However they were by no means the only avidly armed units. The bulk of the Operation was armed with Kevlar armor, also lined with the ceramic magic-nullifying affect. They wielded a serious of various fire-arms, such as simple model AR's and 9mm Ruger side-arms, all equip with non-lethal rounds that shatter and splinter just beneath the skin, causing mere flesh wounds in the hopes of debilitating and hindering potential escapees should the breach Squad fail to incapacitate all targets or the Sniper/Runner Squad was unable to tranq any runners. They would literally be the bulk of the Unit's operation, numbering far more than both Squads, and taking up the formations in-between both Squads for the Operation. They were trained, heavily so, throughout most of their lives, and they were the best the U.S. Special Forces Operations had to offer for this mission. "Units, Fall in!" A voice chimed with a deep, commanding tone from the center of the garage. It was the Commander of the Op once again speaking to the collective as they finished their assessment and gear-up. "We are all ready. Geared, trained, practiced, and willed. We are here for this Op, I have already told you why, now it is time to achieve our goal. Units! Fall out, and move!" The Commander barked with an authoritative tone as the Units then loaded up into the Humvees and the armored Vans. They quickly rushed them across town to the motel, the site of the Op's targets. It was here that this small war would begin it's earliest battle. They parked the vehicles a block before reaching the motel where it was safe to understand they wouldn't be found, thanks to the magic-negating armor. Once they were parked they organized their formation which was marvelously and impressively organized for an urban field Op. The Heavies Squad sat at the front, while the Snipers were in the back with at least three squads worth of bulk Units in-between them. These men and women, these "Units" were ready, primed, and at their destination. Their Commander gave a single signal, a flick of his hand from the the main Humvee and with that alone the Op began in full swing. They moved with precision and purpose as they quickly closed the distance between them and the Motel. Once they reached the back of the main lobby, they prepared their bulk off to the side. The Heavies readied three of their Breach Charges along the back wall to the Lobby. The Units were completely silent in their operation, and their armor made them undetectable by all the mages inside, it was a perfect plan to say the least for these Units. Several moments later the Heavies gave a quick hand signal and all the Units moved away from the wall, three Heavies lifted up remote triggers and gave each other a timed look, before organizing the press. It was in that instant that everything changed for both sides of this war. The Magi never saw it coming, and the Special Forces weren't entirely sure what to expect. All that either side knew.. was that a wall just erupted into an explosion and splinters and wood shredded out away from the wall, clearing open to the full back of the room into the Magi. Armed men quickly pressed to the wall and began to move in. Words were heard shouted out among the Units. "Freeze! Remain still, do not move!" These words echoed throughout the motel after the ringing of the explosion died down. Guns were aimed all about, and Shotguns released their initial XREP Taser rounds, the first set aimed for five specific targets under the cover of the disorienting explosion. Gavin, Mitsuki, Kasumi, Master Grey, and Charles, were the first targets.
