Well, as I said, this works best with at least 3-4 people. But I may go ahead and work on something.  Trying to think how to have them meet up.  A few options.

1.  Have a mentor show up once your character begins to realize something is up - ie how he sees people.
2.  Have one or the other encounter the other in their own setting.  I don't see Cody going to a wiccan bookstore.  Neither would I see him going to plays.  Not sure what sort of reason your character might have for going to the big city.  The restaurant food court is not in the greatest neighborhood.  (It is practically a mini-mall complete with an international foods grocery store.  The food court itself consists of several restaurants that share a large eating area that overlaps and a single very large kitchen.)
