Edmond was pretty startled to see Helena light up about his powers. Usually people would just say it's a cool power, but strangely she was much more curious. Helena then asked how much fire he can create. "Well I really don't know how much I can handle. When ever I do ignite thought, it sorta hurts due to the fuel coming out. So I guess you could say I can handle one body part at a time. I can only control my powers for a little bit until it starts to spread, and that's when I have to stop." Edmond said as he recalled the first time he used his powers. When he had first found out about his powers it felt like a hot knife was slicing through his skin. It lasted for about thrifty seconds before he jumped in a pool, while almost drowning. But know he could handle the pain, but it still hurt so he never tested his ability. He then turned to the boats and frowned as he said, " Well anyways let's get on the boat... "

Valencia took his had and got up. Sure, I can help you too with getting in with mine. But i haven't hold anything that's in streaming water before. She told as they walked to the canoes. Some of the others were already in the canoe. Then I'm going to sit in frond, makes it easier to get in for you. Valencia smiled at Max when she picked out a red canoe. Lets take this one. and she puts her life jacked on before walking to the frond of the canoe.

"Oh I get it. Hopefully the councilors can help everyone with learning about our powers,"
Helena said optimistically. She looked at the boat rocking on top of the water. The councilors mentioned the possibility of the canoes tipping if not careful. Helena had been in unsteady boats before and knew the struggles of the second person getting in rather than the first. "It's easier for the first person to get in, so you can go first. Do you want to face each other or away?" Since it was his first time, it was hard to say which would be better. Facing the same way would make rowing easier, but communication harder, like the councilors said, but perhaps if they faces each other she could keep him calmer, even if it was a rockier ride. Either way she didn't mind, whatever made Edmond more comfortable.

I think that the best way would be to looking in the same direction. Valencia said for she got in the canoe. On one of my vacations i saw a couple that way and the one in the frond was steering the canoe in the right directions and the one in the back was controlling the speed. Valencia tried to explain her decision and got in the canoe while holding the canoe paddles.

"Um, okay then..." Cecilia responded, peering down at the the rear of the boat for a second before smiling nervously yet appreciatively at James. "Thanks James," she nodded while lowering her foot and landing it as centered as possible to avoid tilting the canoe one way or another. Hanging onto the dock, she methodically lowered her other leg, her muscles tensing up but ultimately she made it successfully barring for a little rocking when she committed her entire weight to the boat. It was definitely nerve wracking for her, but by the end, she knew she'd be a lot worse off if James hadn't been there holding the canoe on his end. She sighed in relief, smiling as she nodded again at him.

"Okay, I'm on. I think I have an idea. I might be able to keep the boat from swaying that much if I absorb a bit of its kinetic energy. It will still move in water, but it should be less inclined to tip over." Cecilia didn't wait to place one hand on her seat and the other on the side of the boat. Thin, minute aura strands of purple may be seen streaming out of both areas and to her hands. Soon the boat settled, still subject to movement on the water, though James would find it disinclined to tilt over, his footing more solid. "Okay, that should do it. Still, try an be careful alright?"

*James would make sure to keep it as stable for her as possible, doing his best to make sure she got in safely. Smiling softly once she got in as he nods, listening to her as she spoke as he watched her hands stream the purple aura of a glow. Chuckling as he speaks* "That's cool, you'll have to show me more later." *Nodding as he starts to slowly try and climb in, taking his time since it's not being held by someone. But he would try and steadily and slowly place his first foot in, rocking a bit as he tries to keep his breathing under check. Indeed he was nervous about this, and why he wanted Cecilia to go first. But eventually he would be able to get in with her as he slowly sits down, just to avoid rocking it more for now and to wait for the counselor's next step of the canoeing as he smiles at Cecilia again. His hands in his laps and making sure the oar was next to him in the canoe* "Thanks Cecilia, that made me really nervous there. Why I wanted you to get in first but I knew I could count on you to not let me tip over and fall in the water."

Cecilia held her breath, concentrating to control her power, all the while observing James get on the canoe. The slight rocking had startled her a little, and James taking his time prolonged her worry all the longer. But in the end, James made it to his seat, Cecilia starting to breath a tad easier when she saw him smiling back at her. "I'm glad I could help somehow. I'm just happy it worked out," she said smiling back, though catching her breath from the excitement and exhaustion of using her power. "And if we make it to the end of this, I'll show you as much as you want," she said excitedly in the heat of the moment, not overthinking what she said for the time being.

Adrianne nodded. "That sounds good," she said. "I control water, too, actually." She grabbed two life vests. "This one looks fairly stable," Adranne said, pointing to an unoccupied canoe.

Edmond nodded and turned to Helena. "We'll see through the summer how the counselors can help with are powers. So there's no rush." Edmond wasn't really worried about his powers much. He sorta just left it like that. Helena suddenly explained that it was easier if the first person got in. He was about to object and be a gentleman, but he then looked to the canoe with a question in his eyes as his face paled once again. "A-Alright...i'll g-go first. Edmond walked slowly to the canoe as it bounded on the waves. He gulped and ran his fingers through his hair. He takes in a sharp breath and moved his left leg to go over the boat. He managed to steady the canoe and quickly swung his right leg into the canoe. He falls in with a thump as the canoe slashes around making Edmond feel a bit uneasy. He moves his head over the side to see Helena. "H-Hele! Can y-you help m-me?" Edmond managed to say as he moved a little so she could get in as well.

Edmond made his clumsy move in the canoe, making it shake a lot. He called out for help and Helena quickly reached out to steady the boat, "Don't worry, Ed, they're shakey like that, see?" While one hand steadied the boat, she pointed to James and Cecilia's rocking canoe. Once the canoe was steadied, she carefully lowered herself in. The boat was more balanced and weighted, so the rocking steadied. "Boats usually rock some, it doesn't mean we're going to fall in, alright Ed?" she told him. This seemed to be one of his fears and it was awfully brave of him to face it.

"Once you are both in the canoe you need to get your oars. Your oars should be on opposite sides."the counselors explained. They continued to explain how they should row. They were supposeto go all the way to the other side of the lake and back.
@Arya10108909
"Oh? That is interesting. I have never met someone that could control water. It's nice to know I'm not the only one around. It'll be interestingto see how your control differs from mine." Kyle headed towards the canoe she had pointed out.

"I'll remember that, most likely ask for a good while but not wanting to sap up all your time. I mean I feel honored to see and watch." *Looking over at the counselors, he nodded as he listened and understood. To the other side and back, this wasn't a race either so no rush. Smiling back at Cecilia as he stayed sitting and turned around in his seat, grabbing his oar as he looked to the front. Though it wasn't far away, it was close to their canoe as James spooked for a minute. But he sighs softly, a black fin prodding out of the water as he huffs* "Not funny Neric!"

*The Void laughing a bit under the water as the two and most likely the others could hear, since he had to be loud over the water and currents* "Don't be nervous James, but regardless. You two should take it nice and slow, each rowing on the opposite side of the other so you can avoid turning more in one direction then going forward. James can take the right and Cecilia can take the left, or even the other way around. Make gentle strokes through the water, not fast or vicious. Smooth and gentle." *The Void would say as he continues swimming around, though the fin sticking out of the water was the only indication of him around. James nodding as he makes a gentle stroke to his right, pushing the canoe forward. Cecilia could see this and may have seen the Void's fin before James even got turned around. The Void swimming through the water calmly and quickly to an extent*

Cecilia's face beamed as she listened to James. "It's not a problem. I wouldn't mind you being there at all," she said before the counselor's instruction. She turned her head to find her oar, picking it up and noting the weight and feel of it in her hands. It was heavier than she expected, but she was far from complaining. With the other side of the lake visible in the distance, she dipped her oar through the water's surface to her right side, just to try it out. Cecilia then looked up to find a distorted something under the water nearby. She was too busy trying to make it out to alert James, her lapse in judgement hitting home when James became startled, calling at Neric who then rose a black fin out of the water. Cecilia chuckled slightly, knowing she really shouldn't be and not proud of herself for it, but quite amused for the time being. Right hand on the shaft and the other over her mouth to discourage outright laughter, she listened to Neric. "Wow Neric you really know your stuff. I can take either side. Whatever you prefer, James." she said to Neric and James respectively.

*James would look back at her and nod, thinking as he switches to the left side. Even though he is right handed, maybe it might be easier for Cecilia. Looking to Neric as he spoke* "Now Cecilia, you and James must form a rhythm of sorts. Follow his movement so you both are paddling at the relative same time, smooth and gentle strokes both of you." *The Void swimming around and checking everyone else out to see how they were doing as well. James making smooth strokes, trying to make it easier for Cecilia as he looks back here and there. Not trying to be too fast for her, even slowing down a bit if she was having trouble. Though she could see a smile forming on his face*

Adrianne walked next to Kyle. "Have you ever gone canoeing? I've gone kayaking, but never canoeing," Adrianne said. She glanced at the oars. "They look kinda the same, I guess," she said a little doubtfully. They reached the canoe.

Valencia watched Max climbing into the canoe. When he got him she handed his oar. That was close. she said. Valencia smiled at him so that he wouldn't worry about it. Next time i'm going to help you with my power. She wanted to help him but he was quicker then her when he used his power before she had. Then the counsellors explained how to use the oar. The instructions where loud and clear to her as she studied them using it on the dry land.

When James lowered his paddle to the left side, Cecilia got the feeling that she may have betrayed her preferred side without meaning to. She was also almost certain that there was a universally preferred way to hold and handle the oar, but for right now she could just hope to do the best she could. She looked up when she heard Neric mention her name, nodding as he briefed them on the correct way to do row as a team. It seemed like, as the behind rower, it was her responsibility to follow James' lead to the best of her ability. Smooth and methodical strokes wouldn't be the easiest thing just starting out and before she got a rhythm going. Cecilia divided her attention between her oar, James' oar as well as James himself. His increasingly smiling face looking back was a bit of a distraction, although he'd easily tell that she was enjoying herself very much, returning his expression cheerfully. Her motions weren't as natural as she'd like them to be and although she was improving slowly, she may have narrowly avoided splashing water on herself now and again, much to her quiet dismay.
