He prays that no more innocent lives would be lost, but he had a sinking feeling that his prayer would not be answered. He returns his attention to Millicent when she speaks once more. His gaze lingers on the mark on her face, still angry that someone would dare have the indecency to strike a woman. It was improper and malicious to do such a thing. Just then, Mrs. Wyndham bellowed out from the second floor window of the manor, causing him to look up sharply. His jaw tightened as her hate filled words struck a nerve. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the first time he had been fallen victim to the woman’s prejudice, and it certainly wouldn’t be the last. The woman was the farthest thing from proper and such a poor role model for her daughters, whom she wished to marry to proper, titled men. Fyror’s gaze went back to Millicent as she spoke in a disheartened voice. She vaguely gave a reason to her mother’s actions, and he had a feeling she only did so to prevent her family from looking more a fool. Ultimately Millicent was much different from her mother. She was respectable and showed less prejudice, to which he was grateful. “Thank you, Miss Wyndham,” he stated in response to her providing a hackney for him and Jeanette. He gave a slight bow in farewell to Millicent and Virginia before turning to Jeanette. “Certainly,” he replied to her first question before addressing the coach driver. “We are headed to the nearest church, then we shall head back towards Hyde Park.” Fyror turned to offer a hand to Jeanette to help her into the coach. “My family is staying in an inn right by Hyde Park. I must get back to them after we are finished with this task,” he responded.
