Everything that is in canon still applied and establishes the background of the multiverse we will be traveling. Jace is still headquartered in and ruling Ravinca. Honestly, the guilds rule Ravinca but Jace has the final say in inter-guild disputes. The Gatewatch was forged on Zendikar and Ulamog and Kozilek were defeated there. Innastrad fell to the maddness caused by Emrakul's approach before Emerkul imprisoned herself within the Moon of Innastrad. The Gatewatch is currently involved with the Aether revolt on Kaladesh and are involved in defeating the metal mage, Tesseret. They are likely to move on to Amonkhet after that. 

I love mtg lore and I will do my best to remain faithful to the established material. I will not have canon planeswalkers appear unless you actively seek them out though.
